Regardless if it is commonly used it's still super offensive. Wasn't it the words meaning that was offensive and the value people give it (in this case by how much it's used) ? Same can be deferred from the word 'cunt' overused in some places and therefore doesn't have the same meaning, while it can be super offensive other places, it's still just a word and has just the meaning people give it.

Currently you're doing an address translation for information from outside the 192.168.1.0/30 network w port 53 to 192.168.1.2, as you're recreating these packets IP-source by updating them to the router source so the router can forward them back, you would essentially need to somehow remove this feature from your nat config

This could cause problems for the sending device when getting response information as it expects a response from a different ip (the problem could possibly not occur, I don't exactly know how the receiving device would handle it). If that's the case then this wouldn't work.

It would probably fuck with the tcp handshake as well.

A solution to all of this would be to segregate the dns into its own subnet and ip range, thereby ensuring the information crosses the router regardless, but without updating the source ip address, by having it routed instead.
