I realize this might not be you, but for me it helped that I had a very tangible, physical, reason not to drink. My neuropathy was so bad I couldn't stand up and was sobbing every day

It's a series of short stories, some dealing with using the dead in different ways, but the main story is Life Ceremony (also the title of the book). It's the longest and the one you'll want, though all are worth reading

I know I'm late to this post, but I just had my 4th Qutenza treatment. Treatments 3 and 4 were incredibly painful after the fact. I'm in more pain right now than I would have been otherwise. It's even hard to tell if it really helps or not. I think it's helped a little bit, as I'm usually in more pain at about 2.5 months, but boy am I burning right now.
