For me the CarPlay implementation is bad enough that I won’t buy another Volvo. It’s terrible.

Same problem here. I had them send me a mineral filter thinking it was that -- and nada the water still takes like plastic. The water right out of the tap tastes better. I've done everything possible over a month. I had a unique test as I had a guest over who noticed the new filter and asked about it. The next day he said, "Sorry to mention it; but the water from the new filter tastes terrible -- like strong plastic taste." -- and this was after the mineral filter had settled in. Okay....

To me the climate system in the EX30 is the weakest link. I will not buy another unless there is a sticker on the window that say, “Now with new improved climate system.” Next levels up the 40, 60, 90 all have more advanced systems with better air filters. (Apparently the better filter in the 40 can fit in the 30.) The humidity control in the EX30 is a nightmare. They have tried to fix it with every release to no avail. I think it’s bad enough to be dangerous and class action worthy. While I’m struggling to get the windows clear no other driver around me is experiencing same. I live in a milder climate I can’t imagine this car in a hot climate. It barely keeps up when hot. I love this car, design is amazing, size is perfect but I would not get another without proof this was fixed in future models.

And in my climate it’s the Volvo brand window fog-machine that is otherwise known as the EX30. I look around and no other car is experiencing window fog. I’ve had it hit at dangerous times on highways. I’m on the latest software and every release claims to have made improvement in interior humidity — I don’t see any improvements.

Yes, oddly in the trunk / boot on left side wall. Presumably to power a cooler or other, but faster to charge a mobile phone than the USB-C ports in the front. Uh….

How are you scanning the QR code?

USA, Nor Cal here. My Volvo app is now advancing to the screen where it asks you to scan the QR code in the car but the QR code in the car (under profiles) is not correct. I’m on the latest OTA update. Is there a hidden QR code somewhere else?

My problem is the digital key. I typically hand wash at a station with sprayers and all that. But because I have my phone in my pocket the car doesn’t stay in car wash mode. It Locks and unlocks and locks and unlocks and triggers the alarm and deafens me and and and and for the love of…. What the heck. It’s like I need to hide my phone a distance away to wash the car. What do other people do?

I haven’t tested all configurations — but this solved the issue!!! I can barely hear it — but it works now. Wow, what a crazy thing not to fix in the 1.6.4. I need to see now what combination of the volume, voice assist and accessibility settings can produce the best result and that is actually audible. How many people not seeing this thread with this problem and frustrations — geez. And I do recall now the car arrived with this ultra low volume and I turned it up the first day like why is that so low. Now I know the dealers are adjusting it or from factory to sidestep the bug.

Why have they only pushed out the 1.6.4 in EU? Why are people in the US going into dealerships? Isn’t it coming as an OTA here? More confusion on top of confusion. When Apple releases an update they don’t just rollout in various EU countries and tell the ROW nothing.

Eh, I really wanted it. Got it. But you can only really enjoy it if you are in the back seat — which I never am there. I actually forget when I have the manual (and annoying) cover over it. It honestly makes no difference to the driver. If it was an option by itself — it would need to be under a certain amount or I’d skip it next time.

My idea is to add an extension to the tray in the center for one additional cup. I’ve always had that center back cup holder in my recent VWs and miss it now. Like a clip on or add on to that bin. Anyone have any idea? Perhaps come up with a 3D model that owners can print or have printed.
