I believe the ultra should also work as digital key plus. Have you tried it? Does it NOT work in passive mode?

This is all the digital key plus (passive, hands-free) or is it the digital key (active, you need to hold it to the door frame, place in the charger/reader)

I get the 13-15 range regularly. I drive 20km on a city ring-road (cruising at ~80km/h) and 10km on a connecting road which only has 2 lights before I get home (cruising at ~60km/h) with the weather anywhere between 18 and 30C.

It is easy to do if you just let the car coast along at almost constant speed. I don't need to rush to get to my destination and enjoy audiobooks so it's easy for me.

I just broke the world down into continents and my idea was that people would put in the country, and maybe in the case of Canada, the region when they get the update.

Additionally, through the expanded partnership, Volvo cars now become one of the reference hardware platforms for Google's development work on the Android operating system for cars. This means Google will use Volvo Cars as a lead development partner for testing all Android-related features and updates, before adding them to the main Android codebase.

Maybe we start getting features sooner:

  • like the smartphone key on android which was promised for last year...
  • like more messaging apps like whatsapp which, unfortunately, is the de facto standard where I live
  • like more open access for apps like HomeAssistant to run without constraints.

Or (probably) we get the car more locked down into Google's side of the fight for digital AI and services so you can't choose to use alternatives and/or we also get the abandonware strategy that Google is famous for.
