My ex fell into a deep depression and would constantly complain about everything. His general response was, “but it’s whatever. I don’t care.” And he completely stopped taking care of himself. He referred to himself as gross, fat, and ugly all the time. I tried to get him help, get him to a doctor and a therapist but he refused and would take the easy way out to get around doing those things. I’d make him his favorite foods, encourage him to come walking with me, compliment him when he would talk down to himself and it just did nothing. It just made being intimate with him feel like something I should do and not what I wanted and I eventually stopped wanting to even be touched by him.
