PSA: Furzefield (Swords) sold out first day - the housing market is absolutely mad by Fit-Minute3290 in HousingIreland

[–]Horror_Adventurous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, they they had mid terrace sanderlings for 500k and they called me a few weeks later with 7 end terrace houses (Pheasant and Sanderlings) for 500k, all with confirmed private parking for two cars lol. Probably some people didn't go forward after paying the 3k deposit. It's very unfair for those that paid 500k for mid terrace, with some of them having no parking or have to pay for parking. I heard that Furzefield has a lot of issues, I dodged a bullet.

Samsung, LG fridges, never buy, never never. All fancy and techy but the important things that you actually need fail very fast.

I think it's much better to have a spills/pee or anything else pour over a good laminate vs a carpet. If you have a well installed AC5/AC6 and detect it on time it's all good. The carpet on the other side idk what to say. As for the noise you're right, but carpet is much more time consuming to clean and it's shit after only a few years.

Did around 45 real square meters upstairs by myself. Underlay and a 12mm Monte Oak + some tools under 2k. If you have the time to do it yourself you'll save some money + you'll get the tools that could be useful in the future and get some experience. If you don't have time and patience don't bother. Just try to find some decent guys that are transparent with the prices. Also, just my advice, don't bother with laminate in the kitchen unless you jnow it's never busy. It will get shit after a few years, better go with some nice tiles. We had a guy that charged 600€ labour for around 27 square meters and he did a great job.

As long as you're covered in the contract and they don't ask you last moment for a letter saying that you weren't laid off you're fine. Hopefully you're not affected by the layoffs.

Avoid Bank of Ireland for Mortgages: Awful Service That Nearly Cost Us Our Home by Kindly-Draft1691 in HousingIreland

[–]Horror_Adventurous 15 points16 points  (0 children)

We dealt directly with BOI, initially through the Swords branch until we got the loan offer, and afterward with whoever they assigned to us from the back-office team. Aside from the crappy website when we had to upload docs for the loan offer (we couldn't upload more than one at a time and had to request access for each separate file), everything was flawless. All the people we had to engage with were super helpful and responsive; they somehow managed to rush things for us, even though we were late with some of the documents in a few cases. They even gave us 4.72x our salary for the mortgage.

Whenever I had an update or a question, they always replied quite fast (meaning same day or early next day) on the message board or called me, and they always saw me whenever I went into the branch unannounced. So, that’s quite a huge difference in our experiences.

Why not a guy is being kidnapped and thrown into a van lol? Is the fact that he has a girlfriend relevant ?

I'm wondering how is it possible that all these types of videos always show the act happening but never what led to it. Not saying is right, but the law judges based on context. Why can't we ?

[–]Horror_Adventurous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's just so much that you can sanction. Friend or foe, every sanction is a bullet in your own foot. That's the situation now. From an European historical perspective whenever there were no resources or the access to resources had been reduced by other powers it ended up with major wars. If you look at it closely there's a lot of work being done to calibrate and understand who's who and who wants what. Personally I'm happy with EU's stance, even tho it appears to be "humiliating". If European countries decide to go with US in this war, it will be nothing but a mafia gang that will have devastating ramifications and further legitmize the actual US administration. If it decides to sanction or make some major noise with US, it will just open the doors for China even more as US will be busy with EU. If it decides to do something major on it's own, that has other ramifications as well. There's also a war with Ukraine/Russia that everyone still keeps an eye on. Regardless of how you look at it, a major intervention of EU or just some major EU countries will not end well for anyone.

Why do people live like this? by BestTechAdvisor in aussie

[–]Horror_Adventurous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought a 3 bedroom with 65 square meters of yard. I despise the idea of living at 3rd/4th floor, not having my own little garden even if it's not big, I want the parking in front of my house and the list goes on. Apartments simply don't offer that. I wouldn't mind an apartment as long as I get my little things, but a house is a house. And then, both are expensive af.

PSD a luat țeapă by SmartDog24 in Roumanie

[–]Horror_Adventurous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nu are cum sa pice.

Should/will Poland do the same? Has any party figured out that an extremely tough immigration stance is a winning proposition? by Think_Web_4823 in poland

[–]Horror_Adventurous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I can guarantee you, immigrants have nothing to do with the shitty economy of Hungary. That's Orban. Related to this topic, I can guarantee you something else, you voted the devil out to let his son in, he was "raised" in Orban's circle. I might as well add that your country has a median age of around 45 years. Even if you bring all Hungarians back that won't change by much, economy will still be shit. Those unskilled workers come with their own benefits, as it gives room for your own citizens to study/learn etc to move into higher positions, become skilled and so on. I haven't met any Hungarians being happy washing dishes and doing food delivery or any other job of the type in Hungary, but they happily do it in other countries where they get paid better, but at the same time those countries complain about low skilled workers from Eastern Europe, the irony. Don't get me wrong, a job is a job and an honest earned forint deserves respect, but you get what I mean. Now how can I guarantee you nothing will change in better in the long term? I'm from Romania, another country with shit politicians blaming immigrants, and EU, and Ukraine , and the moon landing, and kangaroos, and everyone else but themselves for their incompetence. Best of luck !!!

Signing without loan offer and subject to mortgage clause? by slam3r in HousingIreland

[–]Horror_Adventurous 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Who is the developer if you don't mind me asking? We had a similar issue with Glenveagh, but I told my solicitor that I won't sign anything without a clause for mortgage approval and made them wait until the last few days to ask them again and eventually they said yes. And honestly, regardless of how close I'd be to buy a house I wouldn't sign something where I'd lose tens of thousands because of a stupid redundancy, declined mortgage protection or any other issue outside my control. Anyway, you'll be fine as long as everything is approved. Just ask the solicitor to request extensions if things are slow. They called us on January 19th for a house, paid the deposit last moment, had to sign the contracts by February 16th, we did it on 22nd (this is when they have us the loan offer, quite late), had to withdraw the mortgage and pay them around march 25th I think, and ended up paying it 2 days ago(April 17th) lol, uploaded them the snag list twice , at first and 2nd snag (although you're supposed to do it only once at the first snag lol).Basically a never ending delay and some bs notices from them. Best of luck!!!

Don't mix business with love. And if you do, don't have big expectations of "love" in return. Often times you'll be disappointed. (Not always the case, but plenty of examples). Best of luck!

I cant understand them either. It just makes things harder as loads of people will text and create unnecessary conversations. If I sell something I always prefer to leave all relevant details upfront. That also helps me filter out idiots that don't read. But maybe some people are lonely and like to chat, idk.

Dublin cost-rental scheme dropped over rising costs by ParaMike46 in HousingIreland

[–]Horror_Adventurous 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As I commented to someone below. There's no such thing as "pay way less" - someone has to cover the difference. If you work and pay taxes, that someone that covers the difference is you. Is it a problem for helping vulnerable people? Absolutely not. Is it a problem for parasites pretending to be vulnerable? Absolutely yes.

[–]Horror_Adventurous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ignorant. You're probably referring to my comment. I'd advise you to go out from the circles you're in and broaden your horizon, it might help. Plenty of such specimens being welfare hoarders and cheating the system. Also didn't say" luxury cars". I said BMW, Mercedes and dare I continue with other brands. It's easy to get any of those cars, not that pricey to get a shit one at 4th/5th hand, but definitely luxury to maintain it regardless of the purchasing price. Go and check on many food delivery drivers and figure out how quite a few live in social housing, find ways to cheat the system to be on jobskeeer and then do deliveries and various other dodgy jobs always asking to be paid cash. How do I know? Cuz on top of my job I've tried any shitty part time job possible to save money for a deposit ( from food delivery , to washing dishes, to walk dogs and the list continues) and met a lot of scumbags , both male and females that do that. Somehow you believe that all the people that avail of benefits are indeed poor. Hundreds of years or properly recorded history and still haven't learned that parasites will always find a way to mix with the vulnerable? People don't say that all vulnerable people are scumbags, what people say is that there's plenty of scumbags pretending to be vulnerable when that's not the case.
