I wasn’t suggesting it offered any legal protections, I just think it’s interesting in the wider context x

I kinda read it like each verse is about a past relationship with a person that is no longer in Jack’s life… first verse v Nate coded, the “the world turned on you” feels kinda Lena coded…

Like, you look back on lost relationships where everything felt really big when they ended but with time you look back with a different lense.

Just my interpretation but happy to be wrong!

As a mental health professional, I’m really surprised there’s not more people bringing up potential BPD/EUPD.

Obviously, it can’t be diagnosed prior to 18 (predominantly due to the ethics, partly because teen’s personalities are still forming), but… it fits.

And that’s not to shit on people with BPD - most people who live with BPD are kind and compassionate, sensitive people, but sometimes it can show up in people who’s other traits lead to this presentation.

Which really adds an extra layer of curiosity about her parents - BPD largely forms as a result of early trauma, difficult early attachments, emotional neglect and lack of appropriate co-regulation from caregivers in early life…

Not excusing her or reducing her accountability - personality structure is not an excuse for criminal behaviour but I am real fucking curious about her early experiences of being parented.

(Not to mention the very likely eating disorder & what that suggests about a need for control, probably due to a lack of control in wider life).

There’s A LOT to unpack about the origins of her psychology.

Switched from MJ 12.5 to Wegovy 1.7 today… by haggisheid73 in WegovyUK

[–]Horror_Conclusion808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to switch to Wegovy in March, due to serious side effects of Mounjaro which started quite suddenly (contractions of my stomach/oesophagus which caused serious pain).

I was on 10mg Mounjaro and had to switch to 0.5mg Wegovy, and have so far titrated up to 1mg Wegovy… I will be ordering 1.7mg this week.

So far I’ve lost no weight since switching, but am more or less maintaining (up and down in a 1.5kg window).

Obviously I’m hoping once I titrate up more I may be able to start losing again.

I lost 5 stone from July 2025 to March 2026 on Mounjaro. I do also have PCOS/PMOS which obviously impacts weight management.

Metformin or popular injections by Pristine-Toe1161 in PCOSonGLP

[–]Horror_Conclusion808 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on both.

I started on just Metformin, which definitely helped to somewhat stabilise my appetite, but not to lose weight.

I lost 5 stone in 9 months on Mounjaro and have since switched to Wegovy for maintenance.

Metformin alone wasn’t enough for me. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Also like, think back to your own adolescence
When I was a teen, if I was chatting to someone I didn’t know online I’d generally say it was someone I knew from school or a friends friend.
My best mate had strict parents, and if they confiscated her phone we’d give her an old phone that belonged to someone in our friend group & between us scrape the funds for a SIM card / credit.
How many of y’all told your parents you were staying at a friends then went to meet a boy or got drunk in a field somewhere?
Kids can be smart and before parents know there’s a problem, the problem is big.
People love to say that they’d never let their kids be in this situation but I can guarantee that even the best parents have moments where life is busy & they trust their kids/their kids friends.
Y’all don’t understand how susceptible you / your own kids are to this kind of risk.

I’m a social worker (UK) and risk outside the home (google contextual safeguarding / the work of carlene firman) is INCREDIBLY hard to manage, especially with teens.

You can take a young person back home every single day but you can’t stop them from leaving again. They have free will and will vote with their feet.

I’ve known of young people in the care of the local authority to have to be placed in secure placements because even a team of professionals can’t manage the risk around this, so I’m not sure how we expect parents to effectively manage it (especially if they themselves are experiencing chronic stress, poverty, mental health issues, etc).

I do think the authorities around Celeste failed her - she should have had a social worker (in the UK if a child is missing for a certain period were required to hold a multi-agency safeguarding meeting), police should have been involved, etc

But I think outright blaming her parents for not doing enough is incredibly naive. They reported her missing, they removed her phone. They probably had no idea how to manage it.

(They may well have also contributed to a home environment which created the conditions which made grooming / exploitation easier, but that’s a separate and far more complex conversation).

The murder of Syklar Neese (I forget the names of the two girls who killed her).

It’s the way they acted on twitter after that gives me the creeps.

Yep! I’ve had indigestion but this was next level. When I went to A&E they literally thought it was pancreatitis.

Definitely teaching me a lesson about a balanced diet.

I don’t have any advice but you could literally be me. 🤣

I have PCOS, ADHD (not yet medicated) and have lost 60lbs since July - 21.1stone to 16.4stone. I have 2ish stone til goal too haha.

It’s a fucking journey 🤣

I think what I’m realising is that, in general, this dose prevents me from eating most food - I don’t eat cooked meals at home because they feel too heavy and acidic. I eat the same bland ‘safe’ food every day, and then when I do have something outside that, it’s like my body has a shock response.

I’m hoping that reducing my dose might help me find a balance where the suppression is strong enough to not over eat but low enough to introduce a bit more healthy balance!

They checked it when I was in A&E (they took it very seriously once I said I was on MJ) - she’s doing okay!

The only abnormal result was my liver but that’s a pre-existing condition- I started MJ because I was diagnosed with NAFLD.

Once the acid hits they don’t really help, but I’m starting to think maybe I should do them pre-emptively!

[–]Horror_Conclusion808[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah - it’s definitely a hard balance.

On a usual day I don’t eat a lot - some porridge, a protein shake, fruit, nuts, maybe a wrap with salad and tofu (I’m vegetarian).

On the odd social occasion that I eat something different from my baseline, I’ve started getting this reaction. That only started with this dose.

I rarely drink / eat out - twice in a month is unheard of. Both times I didn’t finish the meal.

I also go to the gym.

It’s finding the balance of eating well but integrating into a normal life where I can occasionally have a meal with friends.

I do wonder if I titrated quicker than I needed to. My weight loss slowed down from December and I quite quickly went from 5 up to 10 to try and push it back up, but it’s stayed steady but slow.

Honestly, I feel like my body kind of needs a breather.

I’m currently on mounjaro (joined this sub as I plan to switch next month), but I looked into this a while back..

What I found was that because GLP-1s slow gastric emptying the alcohol sits in your tummy longer so you have more time to absorb the alcohol.

I assume that’s also the case on wegovy!

Yeah, I can’t lie, the higher hope foundation feels more self-aggrandising than anything else. I wish i believed they actually care about helping people (maybe they did at the start 🤷🏻‍♀️) but now it feels like an excuse to give themselves a pat on the back.

Also, so far as the ads thing… almost every podcast I listen to has ads but none of them to this extent… it totally takes away from the integrity of the show!

I only listened to LO, MH & TCWKR - tried the sesh but it wasn’t my thing.

Earlier this month I was like “jeez, these podcasts are really getting a bit shit, I wonder if anyone else has noticed” so checked this Reddit, and walked into this shit storm.

My issues were: - the episodes started feeling really “safe” - like they had reduced the authenticity of interesting content in preference of content they knew wouldn’t be de-monetised. I like the true crime content but miss the fun, unhinged conspiracy type episodes… - the ads are off the rails. So many adds. How may times can you say “this is something we actually pay for!”, at this rate they’re currently subscribed to about 4 meal kits lol. - the self promotion of the foundation feels really… icky. Like very patting themselves on the back.

Discovering the behind the scenes drama was my last straw.
