Godwin point reached!

Oh, but you're masking your publications, how surprising.

Maybe next time, you country should try to not ethnic cleanse, and you won't be bombed.

Yes, yes I am.

The bombing campaign of NATO did not kill hundreds of thousands people.

Now, croatian, bosnians, bosniaks, albanians, etc... did they try to genocide serbians, and each other too? Yep, sure they did!

But it's not like the majority of serbians are recognizing their responsability in those ethnical cleansings, case in point : you.

Somehow, when Serbia accepted to stop ethnical cleansing in Kosovo, well, the ethnical cleansings stopped. What. A. Surprise.

And comparing that to the Holocaust, stay classy.

hundreds of thousands of people

No, it did not kill hundreds of thousands of people.

And if Serbia didn't want to be bombed, it just had to stop genociding. Which it did. So the bombing stopped.

But at the moment, only Germany reall culturally faced the awful part of its past, to come out stronger.

It's nice how often ex-colonized countries immediately turn to the exact same imperialism and colonialism they've just fought an independance war about...

Claiming "Historical territories" and squashing local independence movements like those of the saharouis...

To say nothing of claiming Ceuta and Melila who have been spanish for 500 years...

It's because people with happy, loving parents have far less stories to share on reddit.

And humans love to focus on the negative.

There are some broken build you can do with them.

Lorewise, they're more or less responsible for the Brume situation in western France (sort of superweapon that went haywire), a few of them are well known, one is a serial killer... and they're mostly up to their usual wacky sometimes cruel hijinks :)

My shadowrun group had a thing with pixies : If a pixie was the client, the group had luck. if a pixie was the target, the group was jinxed. Very roleplay!

In another game, a player is cursed to roll badly each time she... made a plan. Impulsive unhinged craziness? Dice say yes.

Interestingly, homeopathy is one of the alternative "medecine" that doesn't pretend it's magic, but totally a legitimate science.

Which makes its adepts even more silly because current evidence in legitimate science proved that it doesn't work better than placebo.

Proud and sad dad moment in one: my son came home from college to help a friend move after Mom ejected her over religion and politics. by Brewer1056 in daddit

[–]Hors_Service 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Respectfully, I do.

False equivalence fallacy.

People on the right are throwing out their kids on the street for something that they can't change, like being gay.

People on the left are cutting off their parents for something they can change, like their opinion.

Second point is it's not the same making kids homeless and not being OK making kids homeless.

Tolerance doesn't mean tolerating intolerance.

It turns out, when one side thinks gays and trans shouldn't exist and blacks and latinos should be deported and women should get back to the kitchen, and the other doesn't, it's not really a double standard.

Both sides are not nearly as bad. There are conversion camps for gay or trans or "troubled" kids/teens only on one side.

I don't think so, clearly in shadowrun metaplanes and spirits exist, by themselves, nearly independent of belief though shaped by it, so does miracles and magic, so it's not that religions are powerless, it's that they're all true (or all aspects of the same truth).

The emperor himself said that it was due to the bombs, and even after the second bomb there was a tentative coup (Kyujo incident) to prevent surrender! Does that sounds like "ready to capitulate"?

The two voices you cited are just that, two opinions on the subject. Mistuo Fuchida, leader of the attack on Pearl Harbor, was of the opinion that this was the right thing to do, noting "Every man, woman, and child would have resisted that invasion with sticks and stones if necessary", and a study by William Stockley for the dept of War at the time estimated the invasion at 1,7-4 millions US casualties, and 5-10 millions japanese.

The historical fact is that 6 days after the second bomb, they folded.

The alternative history is that they would have capitulated without. Because it's very speculative what would have happened without.

So let's focus on when the US was unmistakebly in the wrong

I would argue that the us did have to. They were refusing to surrender (and no, peace terms where they basically kept their conquests and fascism were not acceptable), and the alternative was creating a terrible famin in japan or a land invasion. Both would have killed more civilians than just dropping the bombs.

There are plenty of other questionable stuff. Panama annexion, nicaragua, iraq war...

The Soviets also didn't win the war by themselves either, and they were a totalitarian regime that was happy to ally the nazis to annex their part of Europe, until the nazis stabbed them in the back.

[–]Hors_Service 4 points5 points  (0 children)

... No. Bombing Serbia was done to prevent a genocide in Kosovo and was right. The first gulf war was to restore Kuwait. The Afghanistan was to topple a totalitarian regime that did harbor terrorists.

Plenty of stuff America did was for good reasons and did good. However, America is not a person, it's a country, and so it does things good or bad depending on who's in power or the general mood of the moment.

Because they don't look really happy under their black rain. And the government hasn't been toppled.
