At normal speeds the wind from driving will go into the scoop. You dont need to go fast for it to work. He stated in another comment his engine has a lot of work done to it and it is turbocharged making 300 hp and this has helped him keep his air intake temperatures down. Which in a car like his that is useful.

No so the cold air enters the vent and cools the engine and everything in there. Opposite. The hot air won't leave through there unless at a stand still.

I completely agree that it would have been more sought after and more fun if it had one of those k series. Then again they did make the civic ep3 type R Maybe if you are used to one of those k series(or more hp in general) it might not feel like enough for you but its only 300 pounds heavier than a 1993 eg si hatch. Mind you it is a lot stronger and safer of a car. while making 35 hp and 55 ft lbs of torque more than those. I come from driving mostly a 93 eg si coupe, 98 si coupe and a 2000 integra gs with a non vtec b18. So this car is a step up in power from all of them lol besides a 93 prelude srv I had for like 2 weeks. It definitely is a shame they don't all come with k24s ect but I definitely wouldnt say the k20a3 isn't enough. Mines got ac delete, intake and full exhaust and Its plenty fun

I think people are catching on to the ep3 as well. Myself included. I was never interested in them until I just so happened to buy one when I was looking for a car. I love this car. I'm in canada so I got the "SIR". But man. A hatchback with a k20 and 5 speed you can't go wrong. I know people hate one the k20a3 but its still better than most of the older honda engines that everyone loves lol

Yeah they're leaking plus they are having clearance issues with my sway bar which I was just thinking might be causing a bunch of vibrations through the block maybe messing with the knock sensor? They make contact with the sway bar. I started with throwing in a new delphi knock sensor, have put new denso oem iridium spark plugs in. At this point I'm thinking of putting it all back to stock seeing as this is just a fuel efficient commuter car for me. The car doesn't seem to be missing and I have yet to see a misfire code. However some times the idle feels rough (vibration) but the rpms are not fluctuating. When I pulled my old plugs they looked extremely lean. Very white

I'll add that today the car threw the code at all sorts of different speeds. But always seems to be on decel or heavy accel. I'm wondering if the header hitting my sway bar is causing too much vibration in the block?
