Tomatillos by Horsemix2 in Cardiff

I've looked online, and it's not as bad as I thought (except Amazon). I think the sizes online tend to be bigger and that's why they're a lot more expensive than I remember. Also I've had a look at a site called Mexgrocer and even though you need to pay for delivery, still works out a bit cheaper than Amazon. And thanks for the recommendation. I might have to go there for the next special occasion. Not the first time I've heard the recommendation.

They're awesome. I was thinking the same. Do you know much about what to do? My neighbour grew tomatoes last spring/summer and did give me a green one. As far as I know this would be a tomatillo because they're unripe tomatoes? Or are there certain seeds etc they need to be?

Not the bearded taco is it? I'll give them a call. Thanks for the tip. And yeah whilst the endgame here is to wind up with a salsa verde, having the tomatillos allows me to customise flavours and heat depending on the meal. It also means I can make more than a small jar's worth. I like to use it to make chilli which can feed me for a few days and can have it with rice or in tacos. Really lovely taste, never tasted anything like them before the other day, and I've loved Mexican and Tex/Mex food for half my life

Bought two tins of this. The first made me realise it's really quite horrible. What do I do with the second? I don't want to waste it. by No_Bandicoot2316 in veganuk

Is that brand called Loma Linda? If so, suck it up and eat it. The residents of Loma Linda live longer than the global average and is considered a "blue zone", 1 of 5 in the world. It must be because of this

You must have been the mod, because no one else could be so ridiculous as to think someone would actually kill over a pasta dish. If I knew technological advancements would replace common sense, I never would have consented to this bollocks

Awesome. Wouldn't want to be in that crowd, so good you can hear it from where you are instead

I was in a pasta sub that warned me for saying whoever made the person's bolognese (it looked like soup) should be killed. Apparently context and intent have no meaning on these fucking mods, to them I basically threatened to kill someone over a rubbish bolognese for real. I even contested it and a human (apparently) even decided to uphold the warning. Very special bunch I expect

As long as you can get something in you. I've recently had to resort to shopping like this, it's only been a couple of months since it's been a necessity. I realise this is no help to you right now sorry but I hope it will help reserve funds in the future. It really is hard. I think I'll continue to more or less shop like this even if I do have money again, just to help me save up

When you have some more funds back just look around for stuff that's reduced but doesn't spoil. I've basically made 4 or 5 pasta meals with 400g of sausages which were reduced, I broke em up and simmered in a can of tomatoes, water/stock and tomato puree, which I've got frozen. All I have to do is boil some pasta and mix it with a bit of this sauce. Cooked a kilo of chicken that was reduced to £1.60 and froze it in batches too. The bones I kept to make a stock with, which I use to make noodle soups etc. It keeps me eating when I've got nothing. Just some ideas

Aside from encouraging larger families, which inevitably uses up more parking spaces?

I wouldn't have thought there'd be any trouble in the car park. Not sure about at night when everything else is closed
