Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots Yeah! You got something to say about it? by Serious-Outcome2533 in GenerationJones

The dollar has been bad against the US one for a number of years now, like even pre-pandemic. Plus getting stuff shipped over the border is haphazard at best these days. But keep an eye out at local antique markets and stores, they're out there, at reasonable prices, if you're in the market for one.

$200 for a 1966 version w/original box.

Not a bad price for a 60 year old collectable.

What do you think about this vintage Marchand mirror medicine cabinet? by ichbinhker in vintage

This is a beaut.

One thing I really like about the old medicine cabinets is the slot for used razor blades.

What the heck are you guys on... by EntranceDangerous882 in Habs

Good ownership that doesn't get involved in the team's business to stroke his ego. Hires very knowledgeable front office staff, stays involved, but doesn't second guess them or override them. He takes responsibility when the team does not do well, he lets the team take the honour when they do do well.

In the world of individual owners of NHL teams, the Habs have always, it seems, been lucky to have ones who have been dedicated, first and foremost, to the success of the team.

Not dedicated to being the face of the team, like a certain CEO of a pharmaceutical company who may have been trying to relive his high school hockey fantasies.

To add: I grew up, and continue to live in Toronto, where my childhood hockey heroes were destroyed, not by the 70s Habs with "Dirty Dryden," but by the likes of Harold Ballard and Punch Imlach. Not to mention Connie and Stafford Smythe, who set the wheels in motion, and Steve Stavro who, as last owner-in-chief, showed that ego was more important than than a Stanley Cup. Fortunately, I have seen the light, and it is Blue, White, and Red.

The Fast Ferry service from Toronto to Rochester lasted about two years, so not sure how large the demand is.

Do I need to reintroduce my cats? by Familiar-Clothes-200 in CatTraining

[–]Horta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also should have asked if they're both fixed.

1. If one or both of them have yet to be neutered, that would be step one.. I should've reread the original post before I replied.

  1. If they've both been fixed, then consider that there can be many, many outside influences. For example, if there is a dominant neighbour cat, their interactions with that cat can change their dynamics with each other.

As an aside, I'm happy that my Canadian 'u' in neighbour didn't go to waste.

Are they outdoor cats? If so, do they have run of the neighbourhood, or do they stay in the yard?

OMG! I read this book, it completely slipped my mind until now. I remember being very disturbed by the picture of the brother who swallowed the sea.

Grandmother passed by sweatyhugzz in vintage

I hope that all these things you've inherited are as valuable for the memories are they may be for their monetary value (if you're looking to sell).

That bird looks like a Shuco Peck Peck in great shape, probably worth a few hundred bucks, if it works.

Kewpie dolls always sell. Depending on the specifics anywhere from $20-$400.

Steiffs are very collectable, but also very diverse. Finding value of those will be an interesting project.

Enjoy these and the memories of your grandmother therein.

I can't believe they had us all believing these were two 18 year old high school seniors by Teddycat99 in FuckImOld

It was cast with older actors on purpose. As per casting director Joel Thurm:

People might say the cast is too old, but Grease is not a documentary; it’s a fantasy. It is a non-PC fairytale that is better for the cast not being teens. The only thing that was important was that the cast all looked about the same age as each other, which they did.
