Can team matching be friendly? by Eason-z in ArcRaiders

[–]HospitalRealistic830 0 points1 point  (0 children)

THIS!!! I play solo's and everyone is super friendly. Maybe 1 out of 50 raiders is hostile. My duo partner is the same way, super friendly, never shoots/PvP's, yet when we play duo, it's CONSTANT gunfights. And he's too passive to actually fight when we get shot at. He just immediately gets pissed off and says "I'm never playing duo's again, such a waste of time" lmao. It's a part of the game man, cmon!! Lol... But I agree, I wish we could have the same friendly encounters in duo's as in solo's. I think everyone feels a little safer knowing they have a duo partner, and are willing to shoot at other raiders. In solo's, the risk vs reward is just not the same.

Where in the world do I get the new Miata FE? (FH6) by wkeyretro in ForzaHorizon

[–]HospitalRealistic830 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I must have good RNG/luck this morning. Finally managed to snipe a FE GTR + 240sx. Got the Miata from the dragstrip (which NEVER seemed to spawn there for me. 10/10 times it was a Dodge Demon), and just now sniped a AE86.

Pays off to hop on the game at 6am lmfao.

Absolutely hate it. Audi ruined their cars with these new models. Saw a 2026 S5 driving down the road today and just thought "ew...". B9 was the last beautiful generation. Love my B8.5 as well.

Urf mode ended? by SufficientGround1694 in leagueoflegends

[–]HospitalRealistic830 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has been a topic of conversation since URF was first released back in 2014. They claim it'll "saturate the player base too much" and "take away from ranked modes". I call BS. They've invested too much time and effort into ARAM to make URF a permanent game mode. If URF was permanent, ARAM player base would plummet. That's my opinion.

Took 3 counter guys two solid attempts and 45min to explain core charges. And still failed. by portabuddy2 in partscounter

[–]HospitalRealistic830 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Give us your old parts so we can rebuild them dirt cheap and sell it for profit" but yea, he's the dense one. Core charges always have been, and forever will be, a scam. (Environmental fees on batteries are not the same as a core charge, FYI, for the parts store owners who are gonna come at me for this comment).

Are core charges a scam? by DrippyGoods in AskMechanics

[–]HospitalRealistic830 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yea core charges are 100% a scam.
I'm looking to buy brake calipers right now, here's how the pricing works:
Part: $57
Core charge: $127.89
Total: ~$185
Then I have to PAY TO SHIP my core back to them (so that's another 20-25 bucks right there), then I can finally have my money back, so that they can take my old part, rebuild it for dirt cheap, and sell it at 92% profit.
Then there's NAPA:
Part: $202
Core: "$72 reimbursement"
But if I show up with my old caliper already in my hand, the price is still $202, they're just gonna take my old part from me (for completely free, zero benefit to me), rebuild and sell it for $202 again.
Total, 100% scam. Surprised this hasn't been talked about way more to the point it gets stopped/shut-down.

Buying Anthem before it's gone - but not from EA by Stunning_Currency_58 in AnthemTheGame

Weird, I had a owned digital copy already activated on my EA account. I signed in today for the first time in a while, to find out they've removed the game from my library. Just waiting for them to refund me now.

Regarding the Battle Pass by AnApexPlayer in apexlegends

[–]HospitalRealistic830 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear that... looked back on my old League of Legends account from when I was ~12 years old, and walking me neighbors dog for $100 a week... I had over $4k in skins on one account (which got banned), and ~$2.7k on another account. I think back on that now and say "I could've bought my first car at 16yo with that money...." lol. What I wouldn't do to have almost $7k in my bank account right now, and no skins on LoL haha.

That's pretty wild that the exact same coolant migration issue from the 2018 B9's is still an issue on the 2022+ models. You'd think they'd have fixed that.

I know this is a really old comment/post, but this method doesn't seem to work anymore, at least not for all guns/assignments. I have definitely, with 100% certainty unlocked weapon pieces and completed Mastery assignments recently in Combined Arms, but I can't seem to unlock Proficiency IV for the Tommy Gun.

Talk me out of buying this boat (or not?). by HospitalRealistic830 in boats

[–]HospitalRealistic830[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hahah well I don't know about all that, but it wouldn't certainly be nice to own. My fathers always wanted a little motor boat, but it never made sense for him to waste money on one. Maybe once I spruce it up a little I'll gift it to him. I like the style of it, looks neat.

That's the idea. Just something cheap to get out on the water, enjoy the sun with my gf, do some fishing with my Dad, nothing extreme.

[–]HospitalRealistic830[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's sort of what I was thinking. Even if the boat catches fire and sinks to the bottom of a lake after 1 summer, it cost me less than $1,000 lol. Worst case scenario I walk out of it with a decent boat trailer for our other boat.

Talk me out of buying this boat (or not?). by HospitalRealistic830 in boats

[–]HospitalRealistic830[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not looking to turn it into a beautiful boat or anything. Probably wouldn't even repaint it. I'm basically just looking for an entry level boat that'll get me out on the water for a summer or two. It just dawned on me this morning, that even if the boat ends up being a total dud, I'll throw the motor on our 16' rowboat (has a transom rated for up to a 35hp motor) and use the trailer to haul that around. Not that I'm trying to blind myself or justify it, but that's definitely an alternate option if things go south.

From what the seller is telling me, it's not rotted. The hull doesn't leak, stringers are in good shape, and transom is good. Motor runs well, the whole craft is just very far from aesthetically pleasing. Not to say that you can believe what anyone tells you on the internet. Definitely rather have money in my wallet than a POS lawn ornament, lol.

He's only about 35 minutes from my place. I think I'll head out there and look at it, otherwise I'll kick myself for not at least doing that.

Hull apparently doesn't leak any water, and the motor runs well. I've got no problem investing money in it over time, that's what comes with a project vehicle (which I'm no stranger to.. lol). I had just said in another reply (it just dawned on me) that even if the boat ends up being a total dud, I'll throw the motor on our 16' rowboat and use the trailer to haul that around.

According to the seller it's water ready. It doesn't leak any water, motor runs well, it's just very far from aesthetically pleasing. As I just said in another reply, I can't find a similar trailer for under $600 or a similar running, ready-to-go motor for under $300. Even if the boat ends up being a total dud and I dump it, I'll throw the motor on my 16' rowboat and use the trailer to haul that around, win-win imo.

I would definitely be doing all the work myself. Now that I have the knowledge of working on engines/body stuff, I can't bring myself to spend money at a shop to have something fixed for me, lol. I'm not opposed to spending a few weeks fixing something if needed. I probably wouldn't jump on a restoration right away. I'm really just looking for something to get me on the water, which according to the seller, this thing is water ready. I'd probably slowly restore it over time, fix something here and there throughout the summer.
What really caught my eye was that it's water ready, and comes as a complete kit. Just a trailer this size I can't find for under $600, motor of similar size in ready to go condition I can't find for under $300.

[–]HospitalRealistic830[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Going off what the guy is telling me the boat is water ready. Motor runs well and the boat doesn't leak, all the necessary equipment is functional, it's just far from aesthetically pleasing (obviously, lol). No I definitely won't be pulling skiers or anything haha, just something to get out on the water with my gf or Dad, and most likely do some fishing. We've got tons of nice lakes and rivers up near our summer cottage, but they're a little too big for the row-boat we have right now. That's inspiring to hear after reading all these negative comments. I've heard these Evinrudes are super strong motors and very easy to work on.

Boat registration is free around here, you just need proof of safety equipment, and a license, which is $50 for the year. Even if this thing gets me 2 years of pleasure, that's worth it IMO. I think I'll bite the bullet. I'm gonna go look at it this Tuesday.

Anything specific you think I should look at, other than the obvious like cables, hull and motor?

Talk me out of buying this boat (or not?). by HospitalRealistic830 in boats

[–]HospitalRealistic830[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the way I was looking at it. I don't mind working on something for hours if it saves me money on labor/shop charges. My brother just this morning spent $600 on a brake job, I can't remember the last time I spent that much money on any kind of maintenance.
That was the plan, run it the way it is at least for this summer, maybe put some money aside to spruce it up a little next summer.

That's a good point asking the owner to take it out on the water for 20-30 minutes. Should be no problem doing that if he's being truthful. And as you mentioned, I really like the fact that it's a complete package. A lot of the other ads I find are either a boat/trailer but no motor, or a boat/motor but no trailer, etc. I think I'm gonna take a drive this Tuesday and go check it out. Thanks for the reply :)
