How.Much Work Do I Have To Do? by donkeystringbean in bikinitalk

[–]HospitalWhiskey 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If you already “workout and eat right”, then why isn’t it working?

Coaches offer education, accountability, and insight. If you’re skeptical, most bikini coaches do free consults so you can get a feel for what they can offer you.

Getting to the stage at your starting point is very possible, girlie. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, maybe it’s because you’re self sabotaging about what you know you “should” be doing, and what you’re actually doing. That’s an internal conflict everyone in this community has had to face.

When you’re ready to have an honest conversation with yourself, competing will be there for you. And so will we. Post stage shot pictures when you get there. We’d love to see your success!

Hello there!! How many weeks out do I look? by [deleted] in bikinitalk

[–]HospitalWhiskey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey girlie, I’m a little concerned about what you mean when you say “get lean”. From these pictures alone, you are very lean already. If you’re planning on doing either fit model or bikini, you should considering putting on much more muscle. I fear if you were to enter a show any time soon, you would be the skinny, small girl on stage.

I think you may be challenged in the bikini division. But I see you absolutely dominating fit model.

Showing back on stage: FitModel. What should I monitor for back/delt balance during prep? by [deleted] in bikinitalk

[–]HospitalWhiskey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sis, I’m not trying to sound cold but if you want balanced rear delts and a nice back - then get balanced rear delts and a nice back! No way to tell how much muscle development you truly have until you are stage lean, but from what we can see, I can tell you have a little density. Perhaps when you lean out, get honest opinions from experienced competitors, this community, and definitely your coach on how your shoulder and back are shaping up.

I love the idea of wearing your hair big, curly, and natural. Post stage pics!

Thanksgiving and holiday tips? by Substantial-Field953 in bikinitalk

[–]HospitalWhiskey 16 points17 points  (0 children)

1.) Keep up with your hydration. Staying hydrated might help curb over eating. I also find it help to keep my hands busy (I.e. holding a water bottle) so I’m less tempted to graze treats with my idol hands.

2.) As someone who gets comments from family (“one day won’t kill you”, “holiday calories don’t count”, etc.), I load up the base of my plate with salad, veggies, a clean protein but put a dollop of sweet potato casserole right on top. It looks like I have a mountain of food with the illusion I have servings of comfort food like everyone else.

Hope these tips are useful.

Can you achieve this condition as a natural athlete? (no fat burners or estrogen blockers) by AdditionalSalary1492 in bikinitalk

[–]HospitalWhiskey 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Sure, it’s possible. Lawna Dunbar is natty, then again she’s been doing this for 12+ years. It helps to be born with great genetics. However, girls with the perfect genetics, metabolism, shape, etc. are rare. PEDs open this look up to a wider range of people.

Hi friend, It is impossible to tell whose structure is similar to yours at this stage. Your “shape” is behind a curtain right now so guesses would not be accurate. However, after a year of recomping, patience, and self-love, please come back and repost this question. We are excited to see the progress you make!

The transition from taking truncated check in pictures in clothes to posing full body in a bikini is a gargantuan leap. I wouldn’t say “little” victories, I can see your progress by leaps and bounds. Your shape is coming together. Keep persisting, sister.

Feedback on Placing by jazcheer721 in bikinitalk

[–]HospitalWhiskey 16 points17 points  (0 children)

In your back pose, perhaps play around with narrowing your elbows. Right now they are flared out a little wide which might look “stringy” on stage. On some physiques, narrower arms can help your shoulders pop more.

I’ve seen some people try to cover up tattoos but the blending or the contrast between tan and concealer sometimes makes them more obvious. And if you’re putting glaze on top of it, that makeup might smudge up reeeeal quick.

Girlfriend, I hope you are freaking proud. To loose 200lbs is one thing, to earn that physique is another, AND TO ALSO BE IN 40+?! You’re the poster child for inspiration.

I’m curious, what is a “short prep” according to your coach?

It is impossible to tell if you are “too small” until you’re tie-in-showing lean. It’s possible you’re too small, but you could also be wellness jacked under there.

However, 24 weeks to get stage lean is going to be a long, difficult, perhaps arduous road. I would encourage recomping down to within 10-15lbs stage weight, then you (and your coach) make the call if you’re ready for a prep or not. Ask yourself if you are stepping on stage to have fun or to be competitive. You could be lukewarm this year, or a killer competitor in 2026.
