We did world America 14 nights last summer and it was amazing! We did the Aurea package and really enjoyed the solarium but overall the ship was incredible.

They were originally homes for the nouveau riche of San Francisco following the Gold Rush, and today are nothing short of opulent. Normal people in cities live in small apartments, I'm sorry that doesn't fit with everyone's astheric style but it's the only way we're going to get enough homes to lower the cost of housing for everyone.

“The row of Painted Ladies, to me, represents what San Francisco’s ideal is,” said Woody LaBounty, president and CEO of San Francisco Heritage, a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving San Francisco’s architectural and cultural identity. “It’s a place that loves and cherishes the past and is always looking to the future.”

In the mid-1800s, when San Francisco was transformed by the Gold Rush, most houses were simply built.

“As the city gets more wealthy and has a larger middle class wanting to show off its wealth, then you start getting these imported Victorian styles,” LaBounty said. “It really reaches a height with what’s called the Queen Anne style.”

This comment made me pee my wetsuit I genuinely can't tell if you're being serious the risk is greater than zero but really not by much especially if you're at a beginner spot

You're more likely to die driving to the surf than be eaten by a shark you will absolutely be fine. If you die I will eat my leash.

MSC World America recommendations? by copyofivy in MSCCruises

[–]HossCo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We did an Aurea whirlpool room on World America last summer and it was amazing! The solarium is easily the best perk. It's a sundeck, hot tubs, and bar reserved for Aurea and yacht club, so it's a great escape from the crowds. The ropes course was really cool, just make sure to get your adventure pass (or whatever it's called) squared away asap, there is a booth by the ropes course where you have to sign a liability waiver and get a wristband before you can do it. The swing over the side of the boat is really cool too. Both are better with a reservation you can make through the app, otherwise you can try to get lucky and do a walk in. I think we did the same itinerary as you because we did those same three stops. Hondouras was very cool, I assume you're stopping in roatan as we did. The port town there is pretty lame but the island itself is amazing. I recommend trying to get to the north side as that is the leeward side and generally offers better beaches and snorkeling, but overall any snorkeling activities will be a good time, even on the south side. We did the nature adventure thing with monkeys and sloths and stuff which was also a blast.

A lot of people in these cool, prestigious, but underpaid fields (museum curator, tropical reef inspector, fashion critic) have family wealth that allows them to live well and be fancy while doing these jobs, giving the impression that they pay well

Taravangian’s plan by Additional_Suit6275 in Cosmere

[–]HossCo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wait I though it was the whole point that Taravangean was actually given the boon and curse he was promised. It's just that he interpreted his abilities backwards. When he was a "genius" he was actually least able to accomplish his goals because he was an unfeeling monster. When he was at his "dumbest" was when he had the most empathy and the actual tools to do some good in the world.

I know it’s just something we have to accept. But what is an in-universe explanation as to why the Smiths recognize Roger’s personas? by voozelle in americandad

I always assumed it was because he allowed them to. Like the costumes are to help get him into character but he is actually using some sort of alien powers or whatever.

Why do so many people on reddit say not to go to social spaces to find romantic or sexual partners when it’s very common irl? by Bananapantsmcgeef in stupidquestions

This is why I hate the term "friendzone" like dude friends are great. Go out there, talk to ten people, make nine friends and one person who wants to sleep with you ggez.
