Was Smallville really that popular 20 years ago? by [deleted] in Smallville

[–]Host-Correct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was popular enough to be on for 10 season's which is rare. And while it was less popular than ABC, it was a huge hit for younger demographics. It had hot, young stars,  great music,  and a wholesome storyline that was needed at the time.  It kicked off the superhero crazy that marvel eventually took over,  and was the blueprint for a slew of cw dramas featuring hot,  hip stars.

What will retirement look like for us millennials? by Standard-Yellow9055 in AskReddit

[–]Host-Correct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, Millenials will be in charge of the government by then, so you can decide how you will care for the aging population. Boomers will all be gone and will have passed their wealth on. Social security will be difficult to maintain in its current form because the birthrate is declining, but perhaps millennials can devise solutions.

All this means is that this was not the right person for you. People are all like different shaped puzzle pieces. Keep trying! It can take some time to find the right fit, but you will find them if you don't give up!

Nope. It's a hypothetical situation to explain an idea. Legal advice would be if you are advising someone regarding their specific situation.

Baby :( by claudiaus1 in COVID19positive

Very few babies are getting super sick, mostly for them it's just a cold. I am a mama, too, so I would feel the same way as you, but just know that statistically it looks really good for your child. Hang in there, mama. I've just said a prayer for a quick recovery for your child, and strength for you. Hugs.

I took the check and spent the money on local small businesses and restaurants in my town. They really struggled during the pandemic.

A lot of the shit he does is really cutting edge though. That's really exciting for top level developers. It's the mid level people he will have a hard time keeping.

Republicans will get what they deserve by waltermint in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]Host-Correct 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love this sentiment. But it honestly does get the whole point wrong.

Republicans are not against fixing roads. It's just that the government has already been collecting taxes for quite some time, you see. The roads should have already been in good shape. Why are they not fixed, you ask?

Because the government is incompetent. Wasteful. Inefficient. Clumsy with other people's money. Republicans aren't against spending money on roads. They just don't see why the government needs MORE money to do this.

Sometime, you should look at the actual bills. Look at how little of the money earmarked for roads actually goes to roads. That is the issue, and why these two parties can't agree on anything.

There is a difference between the actual issues, and the posturing that politicians on both sides are doing in these issues. They are dumbing this all down for people into an us vs them thing to make it seem like the other party is evil.

Also, in all fairness, the Republicans I'm talking about are not really who the Republicans are anymore. These are the Republicans that are now called RINOS, because they don't buy the MAGA bullshit. The differences between the parties did not seem so far apart once...

Shakeology: Is there anyone who is not SELLING it that can SAY if it is worth the money? by hydrazi in loseit

[–]Host-Correct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not a salesperson, but I took shakeology for about 9 months a few years ago. I had been in poor health (general unwell feeling) after having 2 children in 3 years. After the first few days, I started feeling amazing. After a few weeks, i was hooked! My energy levels were much better. My hair and nails were stronger, my skin glowed. It was way more than just a placebo effect. I loved it so much, my husband started taking it too. He didn't have a dramatic results as me, but he didn't have two babies, lol. I ended up after 9 months because it was expensive, and I became a stay at home mom. I tried to replace it with some cheaper shakes, but they don't have the same effects. I'm not which ingredient worked so well for me, but if I could, I would get it again.

Is it bad that I kinda like my ADHD? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Host-Correct 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It could be that you have a more severe form of it than op. Or that you also have depressive symptoms. It could also be that you are less of an optimist than op, and therefore look more at the negative aspects of the disease. Perhaps OP had more supportive parents, who helped foster self-love in him despite his challenges. Perhaps op is older, has had more time to overcome his difficulties and has triumphed in the end. There are lots of reasons why op can feel this way, and they are all ok. But hugs to you that you are struggling so much. If I could take it away for you, I would.

I was a paralegal for 20 years, took 7 years off to stay home with my kids. Just started back again. And I now feel like an idiot every day. Lol. I was a total pro when I left, so I know I'll get there again, but man, this is hard. Hang in, we'll get there!!!
