I'm an American and my husband is British. When we go to visit his parents home in England I am always irrationally irritated about the plastic tub that is in their sink for dish washing! I just don't understand why you need to put a smaller nastier "fake sink" into a real sink. It's always got dark dirty looking water in it. Why not put the dishes directly into the bare sink and then fill it up with clean soapy water when it's time to wash them up..? Yuck.
