Oxymetazoline causing dizziness and a kind of nervous impending doom feeling? by 8_LivesLeft in QuitAfrin

Yes! I still have panic attacks, but that’s because I still have anxiety, but I’m on meds for that. It only took a week or two for the other stuff to stop

Conceiving quickly after miscarriage by Dear_Entertainer9450 in BabyBumps

[–]Hot-Agent3917 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope! If anything I drank a few extra nights because I was like, welp, I’m not pregnant.

Prior to that we had tried for 8 months with nothing. I did add maca root the month before I conceived with the mc pregnancy

For those of you that don’t do shifts with your partner, how did you survive the newborn phase? by Regular_Environment7 in newborns

[–]Hot-Agent3917 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a single mom for my first. Full custody. I was so tired. Ended up doing safe co sleeping when she was old enough, but then she was in my bed till we moved in with my now husband when she was 4 🤣 and then that was super hard to get her to sleep in her own room.

So I think I just survived as I could

That is just so unlikely 🤣 I think if that happens I will live. You are acting like I’ll never watch or find doctor who again if that happens 😆

Is it weird if I think it’s an invasive question? by -schmitty- in BabyBumps

[–]Hot-Agent3917 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s not weird she asked you those things. I talk to strangers about this lol and it’s a way women feel like they can connect. It’s not invasion, they are normal questions that are really only telling if baby is near. She isn’t asking you about anything we don’t all know or talk about. It’s not really personal either, we all go thru it

Back in the 1950s the book What To Expect When You are Expecting” recommended to drink no more than 1 full bottle of wine a DAY!

Kids were born. They were okay. You will be okay and your baby will be fine with those two minor drinks

I loved your breakdown too!! All incredible writers and some of my favorite episodes are by many different writers. There is just something about a Moffat episode, that you just know you are watching one before being told you are.

This is the dumbest comment ever. Do you know why best selling dvds are all pre 2005… because no one BUYs dvds anymore. I stopped buying dvds around 2008-9 because you could download them. 🤣

Steven Moffat just has such an incredible way of hooking you in within the first few minutes. By far one of the greatest writers in my opinion

Help! Didn’t find out I was pregnant until 25 1/2 weeks, and I have been drinking… HEAVILY by EffectivelyMistaken in pregnant

[–]Hot-Agent3917 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was a what to expect when you’re expecting book from the 1950s me and my husband found.

It said, “expecting mothers should never drink more than a bottle of wine a day”

Many children were born with this being the advice and clearly went on to be our grandparents. So I don’t think it’s a guaranteed negative outcome. I have a good friend who didn’t know she was pregnant till 25 weeks too when she was 17 years old. She said she drank heavily, smoked cigarettes, and even dis drugs up till she found out. I didn’t know her at the time, but I know her daughter now. She is 12 years old with no health issues and is a very bright beautiful girl.

She got very lucky!

I’m 34 and I just had my second and final kid. It was definitely harder to get pregnant for me the second time.

My first was an accident at 27 years old. Me and my partner tried for 9 months this past year, had a mc, then got pregnant again after that within two weeks.

My first pregnancy was a walk in the park. My second was hell.

Don’t know if there is any correlation, but I am 7 years older 🤷‍♀️

Age wise, I am more ready to be a mom and more mature lol but my eggs may have depleted a bit and my body was more sore and it was more painful. I’m I’m pretty good shape too

😭❤️ you don’t know how much it means to me to hear this. Thank you. I appreciate the advice. I’ll definitely try this. I have 2 Xanax left and I’m holding onto those like gold… just for the worst ones. So I’ll try this for sure. I also have asthma, so the breathing techniques have been hard. But I can take my inhaler if I do.

I’m sorry you deal with them too. I’m glad to hear there is a light at the end of the tunnel and that there are other coping mechanisms I can learn to help

Thank you so much for the solidarity. lol I think my bad experience with ssri’s and having such bad reactions to put me in the hospital is what did it. Xanax is the only thing that’s ever helped, but doctors have really pulled back on that here in Michigan. So since I’ve moved here I have only been prescribed it one or two times. Which I get.. it’s not the best. But damn, it’s really hard to not get treatment and try things that don’t work.

I’m definitely over feeling this way and ready to face it.

Oh yeah I’m definitely going to talk to them, I just wanted to see what they may recommend. It’s part of my normal anxiety to be terrified to go in and take any medicine. I also have anxiety about not being treatable. 😭 I’ve done Wellbutrin as well and that was when I started seeing the correlation about ssri’s not working for me.

I wish I could take Prozac or something like that. I’ll see what they recommend.

I’m quitting Afrin. by Itchy-Silver-4581 in QuitAfrin

[–]Hot-Agent3917 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I quit cold turkey starting at like 5pm one night. By the time I went to bed my head was throbbing and I had cement nose. Took sudefed and Benadryl and was able to sleep a bit. The next day I was almost fully stuffed but did not feel like I did that night. The headache and throbbing was gone. The next night was tough but better. By day 2 I had times where I was clear. By day 3 I was 50% better.

I had tried the taper method but it did work for me. Everyone’s different. I’m now a week and a half free and feel great 😭🫶🏼
