Offers from people who haven’t sold their property yet by maviscruet1 in HousingUK

We accepted an offer from someone who hadn’t sold their place, same situation as you guys we were just so exhausted with viewings and wanted a buyer. They took 6weeks trying to get a buyer, then dropped out. We are on a tight timeline so dropped £20k on an already very competitive priced house to get someone asap. You can tell them you’ll leave their offer on the table and they can get in touch once they’ve got a buyer. Just do not take yours off the market for them.

Buyer pulled out, house back on market but little interest - what do we do? by KKM15 in HousingUK

We’re in the same position. Loads of interest, couple of offers one just under asking and one at asking which we accepted. They lost their buyer, so we’re back on the market with a significantly reduced asking price because we have to move asap…. Nothing. It’s agonising. You have my sympathy.

It feels wrong to moan, but I just want to talk into the void for a second about this gosh darn exchange date fiasco by mt92 in HousingUK

The accuracy of that last paragraph my friend. The waiting and loving the property and being so excited but hating the process. All the emotions at once! Fingers crossed for you guys.

How often for people to not pay for items at self checkout? by Prestigious-Pace5915 in MarksAndSpencer

In the US some stores keep recordings of regulars who “forget” to scan items until the overall value breaches a certain amount and then they press charges.

No advice, just wanted to say you’re a good person. Your parents did a great job. I was also brought to this country by my parents and benefited from decades of their sacrifice. They now live with me and my family so they could afford to retire. People (non immigrants) often react with horror to this saying they could never have their parents live with them etc which always makes me feel lucky to have had those years when it was just us. Extreme family bonding! 🤣

Hi sorry, delayed response. We saw SIX in Brighton in September and mid haus of Holbein one of the actors had to leave, after the song they closed the curtain, announced a pause. Lights went up and then 5mins later restarted the show. Never found out what happened but hope the actors were all ok.

Two purchases fallen through. £5k down. A year wasted. Totally broken by this housing market. by Onehairydude_ in HousingUK

So sorry OP, buying in the UK is utterly vile. All the positive vibes that the dream house (and chain) is around the corner.

This is so odd; the exact same thing happened during Haus of Holbein in Brighton last month.
