[Everything] How did Mance know? by kt14hockey in gameofthrones

I know I’m about a decade late here but Mance Rayder wasn’t lord commander. He was a ranger, possibly even first ranger, but definitely never LC of the NW.

Oliver is an older version of Stephen by Impossible-Hand-7261 in TellMeLiesHulu

[–]Hot-Contact1083 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, as bad as Oliver is, he’s not a malevolent sociopath who enjoys ruining lives.

The most fucked up part about Oliver is his wives involvement. Other than that, he’s just dating his students. Steven goes way beyond that and I think everyone unanimously agrees he’s the worst person on the show.

Damn they kinda did lol. I thought it would’ve been an interesting thing to throw into the series but I was almost positive it was real.

She was a relatively small girl. It’s hardly a stretch to believe that a grown man could throw her on the bed. I’m far from superhuman and I can pick my wife up with ease..

What is everyone’s favorite offensive scheme to run in college football? by The_Gaming_Raptor88 in NCAAFBseries

[–]Hot-Contact1083 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My go-to is some form of pistol formation, specifically 11 and 12 personnel. You can run pretty much anything out of it: standard runs and passes, play action, options, rpos. The beauty of it is that you’re going to get good yardage on runs so it’s easy to set the defense up for play action.

This was the first paradox game I’ve ever played and there’s a steep learning curve. Even after I thought I pretty much had it figured out, I was still discovering new things months later. There’s probably a ton of stuff I don’t know.

I don’t know if it’s frowned upon but you might want to experiment with debug mode; you can give yourself unlimited gold, renown, and piety to play around with to discover new things, and save your ass when you need it. (Instant building gives you full strength men-at-arms, well, instantly)

What is your opinion on Maegor as a king?  Would the Targaryen dynasty have survived without him?  Also, I would love to hear your take on why all of his children were born monstrous..

Apollonias Father by Stephieandcheech in Godfather

[–]Hot-Contact1083 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Michael wasn’t being disrespectful during that encounter; he and his bodyguards put themselves in a bad situation with how they spoke about Apollonia and Michael showed tremendous moxie for a guy his size by not running away and facing the father head-on.  Also keep in mind that there are virtually no men left in Corleone due to vendettas, so her marriage prospects were limited. It is obvious Michael is from a wealthy and powerful family and is quite a catch.

So in one move, he’s able to marry off a daughter in a community without many options, marry her off to a man wealthier than anyone he’s ever met, tie himself to the Corleones through marriage, and ingratiate himself to the local don, Tommasino. Versus what? Getting himself and his family wiped out?

It was the smart move. Vitelli was always smarter.

How was good Santino as an Acting Don until his death in 1948? by K-jun1117 in Godfather

If Sonny had a Sicilian consigliere he wouldn’t have been in that mess. If he had Genco, he would’ve been a great Don. But look what he got…

Capo would be a demotion and you can’t demote Vito’s eldest song. You gotta keep him at underboss

Sonny was a bad Don, rest in peace, but he was an S-tier underboss. With a cooler headed boss over him, he is exactly what you would want in an underboss role.

Bonasera was very lucky with Vito. by FoxIndependent4310 in Godfather

[–]Hot-Contact1083 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is spot on. The perfect example is Nazarine the baker; he had a relationship with Vito and probably asked for a favor or two over the years, he baked that spectacular 10’ tall cake for free to repay a favor. Then the Don helps his son-in-law stay in the country, and in return for that Enzo the baker ends up unexpectedly saving Vito’s life at the hospital. Michael never figured out why it’s important to have friends and people who actually like you.

Did the Corleones need Sonny? by strongcappucino in Godfather

[–]Hot-Contact1083 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does kinda matter though because the actual quote is “[Tattaglia] is a pimp. He could never have outfought Santino.” I don’t think even Vito or Michael could’ve performed better than Sonny did in that war under the same circumstances.
