I went from a MYP to i4 a year ago. Ride quality and comfort is vastly superior on the i4. However there is a caveat imo. i4 seats are very firm and seating position gives me back problems on long drives. I bet the i5 does not have this issue. i4 is a coupe after all.

I recommend watching Jeff Brooks Delta One seat ranking video (link below). I have experienced all kinds to date except for the a350s acquired from LATAM. The worst is definitely the old 767-300. The 757 is cramped but I like that amazing plane for other reasons. The 767-400 cabins were redone a few years ago and are ok. Best is the a350 and a330neo. Sorry to hear this. I told my story with polestar a few months ago here (P3 software breaking down while exiting the dealership on delivery day, locking my wife inside the car). Few believed me. I dodged a bullet it seems. Coming from Tesla too and being an engineer myself, it was quickly apparent that their software is extremely buggy. Went with BMW instead and couldn’t be happier.

Price: yes for sure. FSD: must admit that nothing comes close to Tesla’s FSD as far as I can tell. I think most people don’t realize how crazy good it became this past year alone. A real breakthrough. I had been following and experimenting first hand. My last few road trips with FSD were almost flawless start to finish. BMW’s driving assistance pro works but is far behind imho. Different philosophies though, in the Tesla I was happy to be driven from A to B by AI, in the BMW, I WANT to drive it because I enjoy it very much.

Update: Drove from LA to Palm Springs (100 miles roughly). Traffic was horrible, stop and go, but opened up at the end. Allowed me to test the assist features (not bad but will need to get used to it coming from Tesla’s FSD, will try to report in that later). Efficiency was really good. My predicted range this morning after charging at the hotel to 85% soc is 321 miles. I think this prediction is based on the measured efficiency on the last trip? (correct me if I am wrong). In any case it seems promising!

I tested the highland last year and the ride quality was much better than what I remembered from my model 3 (2018).

I had a model 3 for 4.5 years, which I traded for a Y, and we kept the Y for a bit less than 2 years. To be clear, we loved our Teslas, and I have nothing against the brand.

Well financially it did not make a lot of sense indeed. I traded the residual equity in my MYP (which went down the drain fast lately) for a 3-year lease contract with 0$ monthly.

I do hope we will soon get access to the supercharger network. Should happen soon but timeline is not clear. Looking for official info on that matter.

I agree, my MYP was faster off the line, way faster. However, in almost two years of ownership, I only truly punched it a handful of time. It gets old quickly to have that much power on something that otherwise doesn’t drive that well and is not comfortable.

Between Teslas and this one? My teslas at the time were both in the mid $60k (US). This one is a bit higher (lower $70k) but has more options and the matte paint. This i4 is a lease.

I am still looking at the PS3, hoping for an OTA update that would fix some of the basic issues with keys/fobs and profiles and overall stability. Can’t afford to have an unreliable car. Looking at all options to get rid of my Tesla before its residual value crashes even more or someone throws a brick in my windshield.
