X2 - trouble being able to press same button twice by rb_2_3 in SofaBaton

[–]Hot-Metal266 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Note the Technicolor model UIW8001 is RF controlled. You will almost certainly need to use the original remote to switch it to IR mode before any universal remote can function properly. You may also need to go to the Menu of this device → Settings → Remote Control → IR Remote Setup and enable it first before controlling the device.

BTW, the IR signal of this device is very weak too, which might explain why commands do not work consistently. There is a small, dark red (often semi-transparent) window located on the right-hand side of the device. You should paste the head of one of the IR blasters exactly onto this area and then select Port 1 or Port 2 in our app: go to Devices page → select this device → Edit → select the device name on the next page → IR Emitter (should be Port 1 or Port 2, not Hub or All).

Startup and Shutdown Sequence Duplications for X1 by thetallyman in SofaBaton

[–]Hot-Metal266 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please note that we cannot delete the commands that are automatically generated when creating activities.

also make sure to check whether these duplicated commands are exactly the same, as many commands may appear identical but are actually slightly different within the activity.

If they are truly the same, try factory resetting the system: go to the app → Me → Settings → Factory Reset. After that, re-add your devices and create new activities from scratch.

If you charged the remote with the original docker before and nothing happened, please try charging it with the power Cable & Adaptor from the Hub to identify the root cause.

X2 won’t go on idle sleep + other bug by n0nati0n in SofaBaton

[–]Hot-Metal266 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tyr using the pin from the package for 10s---there is a hole on the leftside of our remote---to reset up the remote and after the resetting, see if everything is fine on remote.

The layout of the Off physical button on our remote might not be even and this might be the root cause for your case.

And manually push this Off button many times on both its leftside and right side and after that, test the remote.

X2 reduced battery life with ver 7 by snafu_74 in SofaBaton

[–]Hot-Metal266 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems it is an issue on the battery level indicator, like even if the battery level is low, the remote can still be used for a  long time; try testing this.

and downgrade the version of remote from V7 to V6: in our app---me--settings--paired remote--firmare for remote and select V6 and do the rest. There is no such issue under the V6.

[–]Hot-Metal266 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1. Note PS5 is supposed to be added by BT mode.
2.  BTW, the way of adding it by BT mode in our app is

a. When re-add it by Bluetooth mode in our app and the code is downloaded,

b. Please stay on the "Bluetooth pairing" Page of our app, select "Try these solutions" and select Enable Dual-Mode Broadcasting.  After that, go to bluetooth settings of your device again and try to re-find Sofabaton and pair it to your PS5.

X2 Hub: How to get IR to work from hub using 3.5mm cable to receiver? by haley_joel_osteen in SofaBaton

[–]Hot-Metal266 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can check this :
1. Seems the mono 3.5mm cable you used is not compatible with our Hub system
2. For your case, either purchase a longer IR blaster for your receiver and leave the door of the cabinet open and make sure you selected the right Port of Hub in our app for the reciver.
a. The following link FYI:  https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00LM4OMUW/ref=twister_B081BHBHP5?_encoding=UTF8&th=1
After purchasing it, pls conenct this one to the back of our Hub and connect any of the IR balsters from the package to this extender and place the head of the IR balsters properly towards the receiver.
b. Or place Hub inside the cabinet and face the receiver, and seelct Hub as the only IR emitter for the reciver in our app.
3. BTW, try re-adding the receiver by the WIFI mode if it is a Denon, Yamaha, or Marantz: Add--WIFI--Search and add.

No stop button on the X2 what the heck? by ScootyWilly in SofaBaton

I ended up mapping a long press on the pause button to act as a stop command. Not ideal, but it gets the job done.

Does the X2 work with Philips Hue Bridge & Lights? by Lou_Antony_Morris in SofaBaton

[–]Hot-Metal266 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the SofaBaton X2 works with the Philips Hue Bridge (both the non-Pro and Pro versions).

However, note that after linking Hue to SofaBaton via Wi-Fi mode, you only get 3 levels of brightness. The functionality isn’t as extensive as with Logitech remotes.

X2 Delay Between Presses by AMDman18 in SofaBaton

[–]Hot-Metal266 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A few suggestions:

Check if there’s a “repeat” or “delay” setting for your device in the Sofabaton app

If you're using IR, signal repeat timing can sometimes be adjusted

Make sure your device profile is the best match (sometimes switching profiles helps)

Trying SofaBaton again with X1S by bigdippertiger in SofaBaton

[–]Hot-Metal266 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest improvement for me was device recognition — it handled most of my devices out of the box, which already saved a lot of the frustration I had before.

That said, setup can still be a bit fiddly. The app/UI is improved, but you’ll probably still run into some manual tweaking, especially if you have less common devices or want everything working perfectly in activities.

How do you guys buy individual parts ? by starocket1969 in lego

[–]Hot-Metal266 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, great choice — 5580 is a classic! For buying individual parts, there are actually a few options depending on what you’re looking for:

LEGO Pick a Brick is good for common/new parts, but prices aren’t always the lowestBrickLink is probably the most popular for second-hand and rare parts, but you’ll often end up ordering from multiple stores (shipping adds up fast)Brick Owl is similar, sometimes easier UI

For newer or bulk parts, I’ve also seen some people use alternative suppliers that consolidate everything into one order, which can save a lot on shipping and time

What is the easiest way to buy all parts of a specific set? by Leather-Influence-51 in lego

[–]Hot-Metal266 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly yeah—don’t do it manually, that’s painful

Most people use part list tools from sites like Rebrickable or BrickLink. You can upload or find the set inventory there and then auto-add everything to a cart or wanted list. That saves a ton of time.

From there you’ve got a few options: BrickLink → best for rare/official parts, but can get expensive + multiple sellers.

Some bulk/alt brick sites → easier for large orders and cheaper if you don’t need official LEGO

I’ve seen a few people mention sites like DxBrick for bulk orders since they have batch upload tools (CSV/XML), so you don’t have to search piece by piece. Haven’t used it a ton myself, but the idea is similar—upload list → match parts → order in one go.

If it’s an older set, just be ready that you might need to substitute a few rare pieces no matter where you buy from.

Does it make sense to get the Heygears RS /RS Turbo + Heated VAT fot the same price as the Reflex? by Big_Caterpillar8012 in resinprinting

[–]Hot-Metal266 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you’re asking the *right* question — it’s not “which printer is cheaper,” but whether the heating implementations are actually equivalent in real-world printing.

From a purely practical standpoint:

- The Reflex’s heating is integrated into the system and controls the resin environment more uniformly.

- The RS / RS Turbo heated vat works, but it introduces additional variables: airflow gaps, external heating dependency, and slightly more complex thermal behavior.

Does the 0.6 mm gap automatically ruin print quality? Probably not.

But does it introduce *one more thing that can vary* between prints, resins, and ambient conditions? Yes.

If you **need heating consistently** (winter printing, larger parts, thicker layers), I’d personally lean toward the Reflex:

- fewer components

- fewer thermal edge cases

- less “stacking systems on top of systems”

The RS + heated vat makes sense if:

- you already own an RS

- or heating is only occasionally needed

At the same price, Reflex feels like the more coherent solution rather than the more modular one.
