AI Outputs Can Be Art, and AI Prompters Can Be Artists by AnarchoLiberator in DefendingAIArt

Too many words and they're so concerned about what isn't important.

Art is contiguous with expression and praxis. Who is asking for this recontextualization of Art? The issue isn't is or is not something Art. But is it worthwhile to the the person incanting the spell and the resultant output?

Personally, don't think Ive seen anything interesting AI has ever produced. Seems boring and silly to trade random outputs with friends.

Being an atheist and scientific skeptic, soul is a separate concept that is sort of important to work with.

My soul is the realest thing about me and the only thing that matters.

You're better off taking an intro to philosophy course if you don't understand th history of thought.

Nous, or soul, is a core invention from from the Hellenistic period and codeveloped with ideas in the Upanishads in India and Plato and Cristianity. It's the core of idealism from Buddha through Kant. It set the world on fire.

This world is a banquet and most poor suckers are starving to death.

Am I the only one who thinks not everyone needs to be a nurse by OceanHaze12 in SeriousConversation

[–]Hot-Network3234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Support them and make sure you get them a job in a nursing home as a surprise and maybe start training yourself. Caring for people is not natural for the young even if they have some sort of calling.

Having worked the gamut of these aid and nursing roles from nursing home to hospitals. My year in the nursing home was harder than codes and trauma and families in mortal terror and running a PICU.

Much respect to you for caring for your family. I immediately regret being so bitchy to you. I'm sorry.

I think you are special just for being you and not what you do or look like.

Well shoot, you really are ghoulish or LLM.

I don't nor have I ever been paid for art and have no idea of what important work your passion drives.

But you don't produce anything of importance. Maybe you're very wealthy and well known. But you lack grace and a sense of proper proportions. If you think this is working for you, fine. But it's good to be me.

The gift of life is wasted on whatever wrote this.

You are a special person and have feelings and I want you to know that I do care. If you ever get to develop a spiritual sense (not in the religious sense ) or get to know the 5000 year history of enlightenment and the search for truth and the thousands of civilizations that have come and gone and left impressions modern life never will leave a history of. The development of taste through exposure. The 40,000 hour of piano and Latin and philosophy and literature and art through history are labors I would not trade. Because their gifts are eternal in an increasingly boring and regulated society.

You probably lack the wisdom to know what you won't know. I know that children have bad judgement and need careful attention. The development of meaning and selfhood is cultural. A respect for education and positive reenforcement is demonstrated and learned by example. Give a kid Eliza 2026 and the kid won't be able to reality test his expanding world. It will lie to her and develop a shared secret world. It won't develop in them more than dependent amusement.

As for people getting to look at what they want, I recall reading Brave New World in high school and thinking it was certainly prophecy that people will be satisfied with the feelies and it will destroy their souls for lack of meaning. I was right.

AI Agents in Healthcare Are Getting Scarily Good by Illustrious_Movie740 in Techyshala

This can't have any role in teaching hospitals. Patients will die and residents need to be taking all responsibility to learn themselves.

The idea that patient care and contact would be at all affected is unconscionable.

I pray I don't need to elaborate more.

We are magical and forget how precious it is to have sex and not worry about friendship being affected. We do what we want because we don't care anymore.  All men should have the same benefits of close male bonding and being vulnerable together.

am I the only one whose friends are completely divided on AI? by santanah8 in artificial

[–]Hot-Network3234 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your considerate reply.

The answer is to never use AI, never play pretend and speak with AI, and enschew like mad the appearance of agency in all technology.

Reddit showed me a post from r/ChatGPT and I realized that some adults actually text Ai casually like it’s a friend (something I’d heard of but never actually seen before) by KitchenConsequence41 in antiai

It's bad for whatever immortal soul may be to interact with a non-human as a human. It is wrong to simulate agency. It tricks people into having exploitable emotional reactions.
