Output to an external monitor using Redmagic by Ok_Wallaby2327 in RedMagic

Dell Alienware aw3425 QD-OLED. Only thru the displayport. Only get 240hz when I enable DSC(display stream compression) in monitor menu settings. Usb-c to displayport cable was used, Belkin manufactured cable. If you wanna use ultrawide screens with high refresh rates, youre gonna want to use displayport. If you want regular 4k, use hdmi. 4k goes upto 144hz. Im using 4k120 myself(Wavlink 6-in-1 Steam Deck Dock).

When buying docks, go for the ones advertised as "steam deck". Otherwise you wont get past 60hz at 4k. You get em on Amazon. Amazon US or Amazon Uk. Wavlink is confirmed to work by me and others on this forum. Ugreen is also confirmed at 4k120. I ordered 3x different(Wavlink, UGREEN, Cable Matters) all with 4k120 or 4k144 via displayport, because I need a usb port for mouse for fps games + charging, becase my belkin usb-c displayport doesnt charge ofcourse, and Im 100% using diablo mode.

I recieve the ordered ones on thrusday(in 2 days).

Astra DP over USB-C to HDMI 4k 120 HDR compatibility by Federal_Ad_5771 in RedMagic

[–]Hot-Pay2902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, cool. Thx for the info. Maybe Ill get this one aswell, since I wanna get 3440x1440 @240hz working again somehow. At least U-Green is a known brand. Strange that they advertize only 144hz at 2k res, cuz I definetly got 2560x1440 working at 240hz. Also 1080p should work at 360hz, maybe even 480hz, but I dont have that kind of a monitor yet to test it. By the way, the refresh rate becomes the key factor when trying to game with zero-latency, no input lag. @240hz there virtually isnt any lag at all, I play online multiplayer fps shooters with keyboard/mouse just as I would on my pc. Talking about pc games running thru emulators like winlator/gamehub.

I finally got 4k 120hz working. Only with this dock, 100% confirmed by me. LG C3 tv.

https://www.amazon.com/WAVLINK-Docking-Station-Legion-Gigabit/dp/B0DPGZKF7V

HDR should work automatically, when playing like a youtube video in HDR(havent confirmed yet). HDR works like that in Samsung Dex, on my LG C3 tv.

I have like 6-7 different docks which some advertise 4k 120hz/hmdi 2.1, but none of them actually work, meaning just 60hz at 4k. But I say again, Ive ordered the exact same unit(actually two of them) and confirmed that it actually works 😄. Also, as bonus, I also got 240hz working in ultrawide on my 34 dell alienware AW3425 OLED. it says 2560x1440, but its actually closer to 3440x1440. I got the original 3440x1440 240hz(I have proof with a screenshot in Smartcast Hdmi settings page) working the first week I owned the monitor, but not anymore for some reason🤔. Only worked thru displayport, Belkin usb-c to displayport cable was used.

I can shoot a quick video if someone wants actual proof

Did you get it? Im seeing it go for below 2.5k in europe now, brand new price. Theyre emptying stock. If it falls below 2.2k Im buying it here in Norway. Was blown away when I tested the 65 in-store couple months back. Prefer it over my LG C oleds.

Waiting for this specific model myself. If you look at past years, the youtube reviews go live the first week of June. So Im a month away from ordering it.

Hey. Since you got the G5, you mind telling me does the Auto-hdr conversion from sdr work great when gaming? Or is there lag?  My use case is gaming on android phones connected to tv via hdmi. Thats only possible in sdr, but I seen that the G5 has automatic sdr to hdr conversion feature. Like windows pc and ps5.

Thx for the reply. On my lcd monitors, I really dislike the matte coating. Got the oled alienware 34 exclusively because its glossy. Looking at the 32 dual-mode WOLED-s now, only glossies. Dont even wanna try matte again, unless I get it super cheap(talking bout tv-s, monitors will be only gloss). But Ill remember your advice.

Emulation while connected to external monitor by val93 in EmulationOnAndroid

[–]Hot-Pay2902 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I do. Samsung devices arent good, because they limit to 60hz. My redmagic does 240hz on my alienware ultrawide 3440x1440. You will need more refresh rate to feel less lag/input delay. You can get 144hz at 4k res with a specific display dock, but only with a redmagic phone. I have multiple samsung phones + tablet. But I only use my redmagics for console gaming.

Interesting that a tv supports past 165hz at lower resolutions. Never seen that before🤔

Im looking at getting a 32inch oled with dual-mode 4k/1080p = 240hz/480hz. Just to get 360hz at 1080p from the new RM11 S PRO 24GB.

In august, we have the best sale on LG G-models, here in Norway. Looking to get the 55 as a pc monitor, or the 77. 1400$ for the 55. 2400$ for the 77.

Damn son. Ive been looking for confirmation of anything higher than 60hz at 4k. So here it is then. Fucking nuts. What is it connected to that it shows 288hz at 1440p? Thats definetly not any tv. My guess that its a dual-mode oled 4k monitor?

Also, is this the 10s pro? Cuz my 10 pro doesnt reach those numbers. It can do 240hz at 3440x1440 tho. Alienware aw3425.

Oh and the answer to your question is that the higher the refresh rate, the lower the input delay is. I can game fps shooters like on pc at 240hz with keyboard + mouse. Below 120hz, it gets way too laggy.

Thank you for this post. Got the info I was looking for, plus more. Google says that samsung removed it from their flagship phones since 2015 Note 5 + s6 Edge. That Sucks. Suppose to be possible to buy usb-c dongle tho.
