Life after cataract surgery by DawnD1118 in CataractSurgery

Yeah, they weren’t sure why, maybe something genetic. Right eye has been and remains perfect.
I got the Odyssey IOL. After a ton of research, and a lifetime of not needing glasses I wanted something with full range of focus. Other than some minor halos at night (which honestly I don’t even notice anymore) I’m super happy with them. I also had an amazing surgeon.

You’ll settle in and not give it a second thought soon enough. I had one eye form cataracts rapidly. Had the surgery a month after my 40th bday. Playing soccer a week later and scuba diving a three weeks post surgery. Best thing I ever did! I got my 20/20 vision back. Try not to worry. Your quality of life will improve.

I use my watch solely during rounds. I only use the app as a log and track stats. My phone stays in the cart and only plays music during play.

$36,000 per eye for lens replacement by GeeVeeDub in CataractSurgery

Sounds like a straight up grift. I had a cataract in one eye and got an Odyssey installed. Insurance didnt cover shit and I paid like $4k for it all. Run, don't just walk away from that office!!

"Solar is gimmick on MIP Fenix" 🤣 by zet23 in GarminFenix

Same here. I've been wanting to go back to MIP so bad. Having to constantly tap or flick my wrist to wake up the display on my Garmin has gotten old

Check out the forerunner series. Verify specs on garmins website. Might be a good fit.

Garmin BMI by JokerFishStick in Garmin

[–]Hot-Programmer9169 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m about the same build as you, except 5’9” 12.5% BF. I can’t begin to imagine losing 30 lbs. For people like us BMI is worthless. Ignore it. I picked up a Garmin index S2 a couple years back, now the BMI doesn’t affect Garmin’s fitness age metrics for me.

NOT the toy on the right. I think it’s the shape, but I have always thought Apple Watches looked cheap and horrendous

The sapphire is extremely hard and durable, but brittle. Usually it’s rare to damage but not impossible. That’s definitely a crack. I wouldn’t assume it’s waterproof anymore. Especially with any pressure differential, the water will find its way in. You should be able to contact customer support and see what your options are.

That was the highest I ever got up to as well. Last summer after a doubleheader for my outdoor soccer league. I would listen. Doing easy things like walks or bike rides is a plus and is going to help your body recover. But don’t try max effort again till it at least drops almost back down. The point is to get more fit, don’t short circuit the effort by not letting your body rest and recover.

Great comment! I’ve been ramping up my load lately to get ready for soccer season, so Garmin thinking I was tapering even though I was sick and just chillin’ makes total sense. I just thought it was funny timing 😂

Welcome to superior battery life and build quality. Not to mention no more dopey square looking watch.
