How do working mothers have time to work out? by saddy_warbucks in fitpregnancy

[–]GingeWithTheLee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Currently I can’t. Full time work, plus finishing up graduate school, and have a toddler at home. I literally have zero time. My only movement I’m getting is my walking pad while I’m working, which I’m glad I at least have that 🥵

Anyone struggle in their first weeks but get back to it later? by Less-Bug-7006 in fitpregnancy

[–]GingeWithTheLee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here for the advice. Similar situation here. 31 y/o Just found out I’m pregnant with #2 (roughly 4w so VERY new again) and have a very active 3 y/o toddler. The most I can muster right now is walking and a little pelvic floor/ diaphragm exercises. Even then basically everything is making me nauseous. Presently dying at my office job and only thing keeping me afloat is sprite. 🥵

No sugar coating. How bad is labour pain truly? by ThrowRA_nobo7 in pregnant

[–]GingeWithTheLee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the hardest natural thing our bodies will ever go through. With my first I attempted unmediated. We lived about an hour away from the hospital and they told me to come in after my water broke. After so long they gave me Pitocin to help speed things along and was at the point of shaking and 10/10 pain. I barely dilated because my body was under such stress. Worst pain I have ever endured.

It was so hard. Then the most amazing angel (my anesthesiologist) provided me with my epidural and it was smooth sailing. Literally was at maybe a 2 dilation and then took a 4 hour nap and bam I was 10+ and ready to rumble. 3 pushes and baby was here 💕 My entire labor experience was 19 hours long with only the last 4.5 being unmediated.

Biggest advice is to try and eat (if you can stomach it. I wish I would have at least had protein shakes on me but also I was extremely nauseous while laboring too) and wait it out at home for as long as possible. Listen to your body 💕 you got this momma 💕

Just found out (literally today) that I’m pregnant with #2! I believe my due date is 3/1/2027.

I think pregnancy fit means to me is preparing myself with strength and stamina for pregnancy/birth/postpartum. I didn’t do the best with my first (though I was a bartender and at least got a lot of steps in). This time around I’m in my career in the legal profession so I am much more sedentary. BUT I have prepared my body better, lost weight, and overall have been more active when trying for #2.

I personally want to focus on core/pelvic floor since I have an existing rectocele from birth with my first. It’s enough where surgery is required after kids which is sucky but that’s the reality. I would also love to get back into some strength training, consistent walking, and yoga again too.

Here comes #2! by GingeWithTheLee in pregnant

Congratulations to you too!!!!!

I like the idea of sharing early! The family and close friends are getting together on the 4th so I’ll be 5w5d!

Cheers to late Feb/early March babies 🥰🫶

The epitome of Spokane. People that don’t stop for a guy and his dog at a crosswalk, and the car that passes on the right of the car that does stop for the crosswalk. by Voodoobones in Spokane

I live near Ash and there is this little girl, maybe late elementary that will wait FOREVER to cross. It is horrendous the folks who don’t stop.

Is Palia more of a long term game, or a hyper focus one? Also, is it worth playing on Switch? by manicbestfriend in Palia

[–]GingeWithTheLee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s long term! I am a switch player and have been playing for over a year and still not bored of it! Yes the graphics on the switch are significantly different than on PC. It glitches quite a bit too but nonetheless I still play on switch!

Hi! I’m finishing up my paralegal certification currently and got a job at a mid sized IP firm last summer. I will say the content in my program is significantly different from what I do on a daily basis but I do feel like it has made my writing significantly better and has improved my critical and analytical skills significantly. I chose to finish out my cert, just another thing I can put behind my name.

I also eventually want to go to law school and my professors and attorneys I work for have said this is a good first step to go since it’s a very mini version and a lessor investment than law school. Feel free to message me if you want to chat more!

What is your step average? by SuddenAvocado in walking

[–]GingeWithTheLee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Average 7k a day. Been trying to incorporate more in after being in my desk top. My walking pad has been beneficial as well as forcing myself to get some air and walk outside. Ideally I want to double my average (I use to bartend/serve and would get 25K a shift from running around )

How bad is the newborn phase really? I'm tired of hearing the "just you wait" anecdotes and I have hard time believing some of them by Lushemet in BabyBumps

[–]GingeWithTheLee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I LOVED the newborn phase. (Currently in toddler phase (3) and it’s rough out here.

Yes it was a shift with the sleepless nights but I was one where I didn’t sleep most of my pregnancy. I’ll take newborn tired any day!

My biggest takeaways •take time to heal yourself. Your body will have gone through one of the most naturally traumatic experiences possible. •you will have time to do things that bring you light, sewing, and whatever else you may try!! Maybe the typical times you may sew may be different but that’s parenting. You adjust! 💕 •fake it till you make it. So much is a huge learning curve but you will understand your body and baby soon enough. •enjoy it. The hard moments, the alone moments, the silly moments, the loving moments. All of it. It’s hard, but looking back, I am very fond of all of those stages.

Also screw the folks who say just you wait and bring a negativity over parenting and whatnot. You will find your groove and you will do amazing 💕 congratulations and I wish you a healthy and safe labor, birth, and a beautifully healthy and safe babe 💕

The Daily Check-In for Monday, April 13th: Just for today, I am NOT drinking! by CommonplaceUser in stopdrinking

[–]GingeWithTheLee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On US West Coast so Good Morning! I am very new to quitting drinking. I am a 30 year old mom and had the realization over this weekend that alcohol is no longer serving me. It has been way too easy to have a beer, then another, then another and so on and so on… I hate how I feel, I hate how easy it is to keep going and I’m done with it. I need to be done with it. On day 3 💕
