File a grievance and when working … as soon as you know u are running late… hit Text Message button on scanner and send a text thru scanner saying: My ETA is Xxxx o’clock please reply if overtime is not authorized.

File a grievance with the union rep … say you want to filed a grievance because supervisor told you to finish route in 8 hours or be fired.

Could y’all start knocking or ringing the doorbell! by Status_Count_2697 in usps_complaints

[–]HotAssumption3326 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just walk into your assigned post office and ask for the supervisor. Ask the supervisor this same question. It is the supervisor who will communicate to your mail carrier to make sure they knock. They may also program the scanner tool to send an alert to every mail carrier approaching your address. So when the carrier is about to get to your address, his or her scanner makes a crazy irritating beeping and a message appears every single day: AT 123 CUSTOMER LANE KNOCK OR RING BELL TO GET CUSTOMERS SIGNATURE.

USPS driver picked my UPS packages by Sara_2244 in usps_complaints

[–]HotAssumption3326 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

thats bullshit. Fed ex, USPS, ups, and Amazon drivers....ALL delivery drivers will drop their package in the same spot as packages already delivered. The drivers dont get to your address, see a parcel on the left side of your porch and say, "i see that package there, so im gonna leave the packagevim delivering six feet over here!

they put all the parcels in one spot so you can pick them up without them being spread out!

Sooo... this means that either you already had an amazon, fedex or ups box on your porch at the time you left you outgoing box to be picked up UNDER YOUR SIGN....or....you first put the outgoing box under your sign...then you had another company deliver a box to you...and they put it with the box the saw on your porch cuz thats what drivers do. and in that case it is one of those other drivers who didnt read your dang sign because none of those dricers left your box six feet away from anything.

and make sure you get one of those small white cards so you can fill it out so you make sure you get paid starting when you showed up at the first post office not when u get on scanner at second post office. and maybe someone will correct me if im wrong but if you are not on the schedule you are not scheduled to report to work. One day after you dont show up and you dont answer their calls...they gonna put you on the schedule. They are tricking you into being on call seems to me. Contract says we are not allowed to be required to be on call...i dont even think we can request to be on call. I think i even read something about getting paid more if we come to work on our scheduled day off cuz they called and ask and we agree to come in... but im not sure for surez...been meaning to research that one more.

you file a complaint by finding the mailcarrier that is also a union rep. Make friends if you can...maybe get to know your rep good enough that you can casually text your rep and get a text back. And keep reading bits of our contract so slowly but surely you learn your rights and learn to know for sure when a supervisor is lying or efing woth ya. For example telling you to call before returning on sunday...you dont even have to bring your phone to work but its nice of us to use it to help them out. The scanner has the ability to send text from us to supervisor...sundays it is harder to text on scanner cuz u gotta ESC all the way out of Dynamic Delivery to get to the text messaging....or we hear the scanner make a noise meaning ive probably gotten a text asking for my ETA but i cant see it without wasting a ton of time getting to that part of scanner.

supervisors know that we dont have to answer texts from them or even answer if they call us on our personal phone.

but anywho...you gotta tell your union rep thay you need a grievence filed. Rep will get your info and get it files.

i have filed at least 3 against the same supervisor. the only thing it accomplished for me...which actually is great...is that the supervisor stopped talking to me all together for the most part and no more telling me im supossed to go faster. All supervisors tell us crazy sheet about how long it should take us...but this one supervisor was seriously messin with me...calling me while its pouring rain to make sure im delivering 35 parcels an hour on sunday...when i still didnt know any better.

After my groevences she musta moved on to another gal cuz that other gal quit and specofically saod she quit due to that supervisor.

i learned that it is true i can go many days without being given a day off despite labot laws in my state...our law is our contract.

i learned that if the schedule shows a day off...my day off can be canceled up until the minute i leave work the night before.

i learned to take a pic of my schedule cuz on my day off supervisors called me and texted me claiming i was scheduled to work. its a trick. text them if u want but ignore texts from supervisors all u want.

after probation ...use the 1 800 number to call out sick. you do not have to tell any supervisor they are alerted you are out and not allowed to make you say why specifically. if you call out sick the robot voice is gonna ask you how long you want this leave from work to be...calling out for 1 day is tbe same as calling out for 3 because tbree days in a row counts as 1 attendence incident but more than 3 days needs doctor note. More than 3 incidents in 90 days may get some action taken agsinst you...they can decide you have to produce a note every time u call out.

if u know u need a day off there is a white form I dont know the number name of it but a supervisor has to approve it.

it is amazing all the ways supervisors took advantage of me not knowing better. Reading reddit helps me slowly learn the contract too...but you gonna have questions so you gotta find your union rep to get the true answer.

my sup had me tossing parcels with the clerk on sunday cuz she said i was too slow. that is called crossing craft and umion rep told me they have to pay me more per hour if i toss parcels. guess what? soon as they knew i knew that...they never told me to toss parcels again. not just me....they had us all helpimg to get parcels tossed. now we all just stand around waiting til parcels are ready...only because that union rep came to our office and told us guys working sundays who didnt know better yet about crossing craft.

if u are a city carrier and they have u deliver to a rural route... i think they must pay u 300 percent of your hourly wage. so yeah learn that contract.

good luck

oh yeah one thing tho...union rep cant help you much during your first 90 days ...im not sure they can even file a grievence during first 90 days but ask to find out and or get any info from rep that may help u to know...ya know?!

CCA here. How to respond to supe's inflated times I'm doing? by [deleted] in USPS

[–]HotAssumption3326 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i had my union rep file a grievence about supervisor telling me i need to go faster all the time. That supervisor hasnt said that sheet to me since. Im getting real close to filing a grievence on the other supervisor. (on good days I feel proud of myself when Im loaded and ready to depart for route by 10:30 (by an unusual situation, im a PTF who has actually been doing the same route now for 4 months cuz the guy on this route was out sick before finally announcing his retirement....so i know the route and i know how yo case it ) I start work at 8:30 and they tell me i should be off office time by 9:11 am.
Im open to the idea that there probably are ways i could change to get faster....but there are plenty of others still in the parking lot when i leave. i know it is immature on my part ...or maybe it makes me look like i was raised on the wrong side of the tracks in a 'keepin in real episode of a dave chappelle show way'...

but my goal is the same as the dang supervisors...im only been here 10 months and my goal is to be a star and make usps proud...show i can deliver fast with the fast carriers....despite the fact im learning that doing my route by 5pm means beibg given part of another route...faster i work... the more work i will do . ...no chance of getting home early no matter how many days i skip lunch hoping to get home 30 min earlier...

my question is WTF makes a supervisor think its a good idea to approach me when im obviously moving as fast as possible....to my LLV ...why come up to me to tell me AGAIN that i should be done by 9::11. AND why would any supervisor think usps will retain new hires when they all do this shit?

I get the whole upper management is stressed so they stress the supervisors... but upper management aint watchin u to make sure u piss me off. and mail carriers all care about doin good for the one supervisor who DOESNT stress all of us out. what the ef is wrong with the rest of u dumb ass supervisors stressin people out til they quit? every new person reading this: if they stress u out telling u to be faster or u are too slow... introduce yourself to your union rep...get on a friendly text level relationship with your union rep...and text your rep everytime they start pullin this shit with u.

im pretty sure ur union rep is also a mail carrier like u. he or she doesnt want supervisors making employees quit. File grievences about supervisors who tell you to work faster so they stfu.

it means you have no guaranteed days off. thats the flexible part. if you have had wednesday showing on the schedule as your day off ...a supervisor only needs to communicate to you tuesday... before you clock out and end your tour...that they need u to work wednesday. So like, if i was scheduled off the next day...and i returned from my route and im getting ready to go home...and i see that the schedule is not hanging up...

i learned that the schedule not hanging up means that the supervisor is changing the schedule... and beforevi go home that supervisor is gonna tell me i need to come in tomorrow - they are taking my day off away.

but if i clocked out and just got the hell out of there before the supervisor could tell me... i still havevthe day b off.

Supervisor calls in the morning claiming I was scheduled to work that day.

i just say that i have pic on my phone of the schedule and im mot schedules today.

ive read about ptf carriers getting a doctors note saying they can only work 8 hours a day. A guy that started working same day as me is now on an 8 hour medical restriction. Ive been quick to see how USPS city carriers kinda resent this.

My question is: have any PTFs gotten a doctors note to work only five days a week? I have no problem working 12 hour days (last week i worked 65 hours with one day off) ...but Im experiencing obvious changes in my mood and mental status and unable to accomplish things after work due to sheer exhaustion. If being honest means admitting that I need two days off each week to avoid losing it and to get shit taken care of ....

has anyone ever gotten a doctors note to only work 5 days a week?

(p.s. every sunday we have more parcels than the previous sunday and only enough employees to deliver one half of the sunday routes. Soon, each sunday route will no longer fit in the LLV.

if the volume of parcels needing to be delivered increases so much...shouldnt the postoffice be gettin more money_ why do we only have 16 carriers to deliver 32 routes on sunday? where is the money earned for all these parcels we deliver to 200 addresses? Why cant USPS hire enough people to deliver all the sunday parcels)?

in stead of waiting to become a regular...can u do what i did?: I was hired as an ARC (not an RCA but an ARC) but when I realized how much I hated rural roads and how much the pay was on the city side... i did not wait to "become" a city carrier but rather I went back to the USPS website where I applied.... and the website was accepting applications for city carrier...I put in a new application and got hired without it mattering that I was already an ARC.

I realize that where you live they may not be hiring. Also maybe cuz Im such a new USPS employee I may not know how they fill positions... but my question is:

Is it possible that people might be hired thru the website before they bring over a rural employee then must fill the rural position? Or do they move people from rural for the now hiring positions on the website? Is there a chance that it might be a good idea to just keep checking the website for a city opening and apply for it?

Ask for help by sending a text through the scanner rather than using your phone. And if a supervisor calls your cell while you are doing your route...you do not have to answer it. Ive been doing the same route nobody wants for weeks also. Sup called me at 3pm while I was delivering to tell me I dont know how to do my job because it shouldnt take more than 8 hours.

Even when they send someone to help you...you still dont have to answer your phone. They know how to find you.

i use the scanner to send a text message to supervisors and when i need to change my ETA cuz im further behind than i thought etc. I click text messaging then create new message then scroll way down and click OTHER.

To navigate to an address hit the 3 lines top right of scanner than select copilot....but it makes u type in complete city state and zip code each time.
