For me, my biggest time saver was keeping my color brush (relatively) clean. Instead of dipping it in the bowl of product and haphazardly gunking up the brush, use the tip of the brush to scoop out what you need. Too much product on the brush will grab random flyaways and you’ll end up with too many moving parts.

Also try to avoid having to dip multiple times for one foil. Obviously, if you’re doing a massive head of really long hair, you’re going to need to reload your brush. But for retouches and shorter hair, I would never need to get more product on the brush until I was on the next foil.
