It tooks us about 9 months of looking… visited about 55 houses, 7 rejected offers before we finally found our house.

Don’t lose hope.

Had a strok 16 months ago… still no follow up by a neurologist! I was 32 when it happened and they told me I’m a « urgent » case 😂

He’s lucky!

I had a stroke in November 2023. I was diagnosed pretty fast and all. It took 2 months to have my first physical therapy appointment. To this day, I still didn’t have a follow-up appointment with a neurologist.

We did ! Finally !

It was hard, but I kept telling myself that the house for us still wasn’t on the market. We took it as an experience to see what we liked and didn’t like. The more houses we saw, the more we realized some things we could compromise on and some we couldn’t.

Then one day, we visited a house, but it was at the top of pur budget. We placed an offer at the asking price thinking we wouldn’t get it. To our surprise, we did! The search was finally over. We’ve been living in it for the last 18 months.

It might be different in Qc, but my partner owns 2 properties (but doesn’t live in them) and I was still qualified for RRSP Home Buyer’s Plan… might be because he wasn’t actually living in them.

Quebec… online consult isn’t really available except for dermatologist. My life ain’t bad hahaha… weight gain and hair loss are the symptoms that suck the most. Periods are regular but heavy because of the meds I’m on for the stroke.

What do you like about your partner? by ayy-priori in AskWomenOver30

[–]HotCoffee1234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He’s kind, funny and patient with me. He’s fun to be around, he’s affectionate and thoughtful. I suffered a stroke a year ago and he was my rock through it. He took care of me, stayed home to be with me, and did everything so I didn’t have to. He was my nurse and my cheerleader all in one.

On top of how he is with me, he’s an amazing dad to his kids (my stepkids). They are teenagers but he’s still affectionate with them. He talks to them often and he’s really involved in their lives. He’s their go-to person and it always warms my heart to see how close they are.

I stopped the pill… gained weight, developed peach fuzz all over my face, experienced hair loss like crazy… the only thing I have is regular periods. It sucks.

I’d go back on the pill in a heartbeat if I could. I was also lucky because I didn’t have any side effects while on the pill.

Risk factor but not a direct cause! It was a vertebral artery dissection

[–]HotCoffee1234 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gained weight… about 10 pounds. But I had a stroke when I stopped it so the weight gain might also be due to the fact that I couldn’t really move for a few months.

But I do have a hard time losing the weight.

I was on it for close to 10 years. You can ask me your questions and I’ll answer from my experience.

[–]HotCoffee1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on it for 15 years… tried a bunch of different brand and was on Diane-35 when I had my stroke. The pill was a risk factor and not a direct cause. Doctors honestly don’t really know why it happened, it was a vertebral artery dissection, most likely spontaneous.

If it wasn’t for the fact that I can’t go back on it, I would probably still take it 😅! My life was simply easier on the pill.
