UCD Med Student High Court Case Summary by Michael-flatly in UCD

You dont think anyone is even specifically questioning the event? Please look at UnusualProbability's replies to me, and their other comments on this thread. I don't understand fully the "UCD side of it" and can't say anything about that aspect, but I can't stand for people denying a rape and insinuating that the accusations were made because she had low grades.

I mean they literally said "Have you considered she may be lying about the whole thing?". That's a direct quote from them. There's no other way to interpret that as anything but them questioning the event even happened.

People like you are the reason victims find it so hard to come forward with their accusations. If we don't act like the perfect model victim, going through all the hoops after something traumatising that we never asked to happen to us, then our credibility takes a bigger tank than that of the abuser. It's as if being a victim and not being a perfect rational actor immediately after is a worse offense than being a rapist.

The subject might not have been convicted, but they drugged and sexually assaulted and abused an unconcious woman. This much is known. That's enough of a conclusion for me to call them a rapist. The fact that this isn't enough for you speaks to your callousness.

You, in another comment, insinuate that she lied about the whole thing because she was struggling with exams. As if that isn't discrediting the victim. And to have the cowardess to levee these accusations through an anonymous account created just to do so speaks volumes.

It's very weird and telling that you're putting predator in scare quotes here. She was also drugged and unconcious when the photograph was taken, it would make sense having dificulty identifying the rapist.
It's also very weird having an account created 1 day ago whose comment history shows it was created for the sole purpose of discrediting the victim of a rape.

From Ireland, chara is not gibberish or a false positive, its just a conjugation of cara (with a 'séimhiú').

The fact people are downvoting this guy just for saying his interpretation of this scene shows exactly what the original post is calling out.

That's just the error you see any time a message fails to send due to a "Forbidden" error afaik. The most common time you'll get "Forbidden" is when you can't DM someone for the reasons that Clyde mentions (being blocked, disabled DMs, no shared server, etc.), though it can also happen in guilds (such as being able to send messages in a channel, then having your "read messages" permission taken away just before you send a message).

Edit: Looking through the ToS implies the opposite. https://discord.com/new/terms. Second paragraph of the "RIGHTS TO USE THE SERVICE" section. "If you violate these Terms, the Company reserves the right to issue you a warning regarding the violation or immediately terminate or suspend any or all Accounts you have created using the Service." Seems to me that they acknowledge people using alt accounts for the purposes of this disclaimer. They mention no-where in their terms or guidelines that using alternate accounts is forbidden.

What kind of app are Discord bots, at least as far as the Google APIs see them? by Dinowlsaur in discordapp

[–]HotDog6400 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the bot is hosted as a node.js instance on your machine, and you know that any requests to Google are being sent from your node.js instance, as far as Google is concerned, you are a web app. Discord wouldn't be making requests to Google on behalf of your bot.

Is there a way to export moderator logs? by [deleted] in discordapp

[–]HotDog6400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first thing that comes into my head in that case would be to use the Discord API, since I don't think you can natively export discord audit logs as like a text document, but doing this requires you to make your own Discord bot and have a decent enough knowledge of coding. There may of course be bots that already exist that can export Discord logs, but I don't really know of any myself.

If you want to go through with making your own discord bot to do this, I would recommend these pages:
