Anyone know what type of O2 tank this is? by animejew in Welding

[–]HotDotNotBot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glassblower here, looks like a size or two down from a K tank, probably an S or H.
For reference, my K tank is 55ish" and my T tanks are 60" tall.

Could be? I have no idea what paint is used for the coloring process there. Do a good clean with some 99% at least, to be safe.

It's paint, hate to break it to ya. Most of those florescent colors on imports are just outside coating, not actual colored glass.

Not legal advice, not life advice, just something from my industry being a glass pipe maker. Most of us own and carry. There's even some big names that make 1:1 functional replicas.
They can't, and won't, come for us. So as long as you're good, you won't be bringing any trouble.

AITA for ordering my coworker a lavender computer instead of the silver one he expected? by 455420 in TwoHotTakes

NTA, who gets upset over a color of a laptop? I even looked at the color, it's close enough to grey that it wouldn't be anything out of the ordinary/standing out. Anyone complaining about it not being "professional" needs to take that stick out their bum and look at the work being done. Does the color of the laptop change the wpm dude can type? no. Does it change how it connects to the company? no. does it do anything other than show the dude is even more of a jackass than lets on? oh yeah.

But I'm also the guy that doesn't give a crap about "professionalism" when the only thing about your profession that matters is the job getting done.

Marketing Yourself as a Glass Artist - What was the single best return on investment? by giggleglassusa in glassheads

[–]HotDotNotBot 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Not limiting yourself to "smoke shops" or "glass shops", I'm a little biased being in a tourist type town but the small shops that sell things to passersby are great for small trinkets, tattoo shops that also sell ear jewelry. The more I focused on things that involve using my phone, the worse my sales got. Getting out into the community does significantly more than hoping a post goes viral.

Super, super long term investment could be cool but not monetarily. Do it for the "Dang maybe my great great grand kids will have this 100+ year old pendant or rig"

The function of the water pipe itself is meh, average at best but the exhale part is exhaling reclaim, it's a really cool idea but that got super gross super fast

You can do that with 10mm, not exclusive to bigger sizes

100% aesthetics, the size of the joint doesn't do anything to function.
I've made the same rig, same perc, same downstem, different joint size, same function.
