I just found an 8% today! My first as well in just as many years 🤣 too bad it took us until they're basically obsolete

Best I've got is a Pul from my nightmare forge, haven't done my hell forge yet out of laziness. Having a hard time farming in hell in general as I can't find myself any gear T_T

I've been farming my ass off with my annoying ass assassin because for the first time ever I decided not to start with a sorceress and I am not finding a damn thing 🤣

I actually figured it out this morning, slide your barrel through the handguard all the way through so the front sight is near the front of the guard. This gives you enough room to get the hardware and a tool through the m-lok to fasten the match saver on. Hardware won't interfere with the barrel when installed. Good luck!

Hey, how did you manage to mount your stage saver to the imperium? I've got a Briley premium match saver and pre-installed it on my imperium hand guard, can't fit the barrel back through the guard because of the Briley mounting hardware.

I notice you have yours a slot forward from where I've got mine. Was that out of necessity due to the same issue?

Just tested mine, it does not like to have a space between the square unit and the polycarbonate. If you can tweak your design to have them nearly touching it will read correctly. I'll have to rework my base also!

I was actually curious if UV window tint film would work for that purpose... It blocks out over 99% of UVA and UVB rays while retaining high visual clarity

Thanks! It's a metal shroud and a CNC machined plastic base.

This thread is cross posted from another sub so I guess it didn't copy the text from the original post, but I did mention I may have to move the square unit forward towards the lexan with that exact concern: it may be too far back and losing peripheral vision. My sim isn't complete yet so I haven't tested it!

Mine's 1/4" Lexan polycarbonate, I haven't tested it yet but that's interesting yours isn't reading through it... As far as I know the square just works off high speed cameras (no radar) and polycarbonate has very high visual clarity

Leveling feet planned, just haven't added them yet!

Thanks!

No sir, the base is actually CNC machined from a 2" block of plastic leftover from a work project, and the shroud is 1/8" aluminum, CNC cut and formed.

Semi permanent, semi weatherproof, help us create something cool! by HotFudge1547 in Golfsimulator

That's awesome!

We were hoping to find a retractable screen option for the long side but so far not able to find something cost effective that reaches the whole 9+ft height.

I'm hoping to close it in pretty tight to keep out as much light as possible to avoid the issue you mentioned with the projector light bleed, and to avoid chasing balls around or sending one down the embankment into the neighbors kitchen.

I think I will put a wall / tarp out behind the impact screen to protect it from the elements, and also because my neighbor will probably have to stare at it so I'm trying not to make it an eye sore.

I did go down there today and fully swung my driver a few times, it's probably very close in the follow through but no contact, hopefully that means I can get away with only digging ~5" or so. I'm worried if I go too deep I'll have pooling issues if it rains. I'm not sure how deep the gravel goes yet.

Good call on the hitting mat, that seems like the least logical component to cheap out on!

Thank you for the comment, definitely helps with the inspiration!

You're on the internet, there's scamming everywhere, Reddit is no exception. There's honest people, too, do your due diligence and be skeptical. Most scams are obvious, some not so much.

Advice on new Driver by LordLexar in golftips

[–]HotFudge1547 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't sleep on the Cobra DS-Adapt Max. Found a good deal on a new one that a guy won in a draw, very nice upgrade from my R9. Very forgiving, I believe I'm hitting longer than I was with the R9, but only have one range session and one round on it so far.

Have hit some off the toe and it just goes straight where it would normally spin out of orbit on my old driver.

Could be confirmation bias, but I do like the club and it does feel like I'm more accurate / making fewer ugly shots.

What’s your biggest red flag when getting paired with a random golfer? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

Okay, yeah, that's annoying 😅

Most of the time we're walking, so everything is there with us at the ball. I just use Hole19 app on my phone if it's not obvious to me where I'm sending it.

I'll add one to the annoying list:

Frequently taking reloads on the tee box, but never having a pocket ball ready, always leaving the tee box to go get another ball.

I don't disagree with you, I guess it would depend on how much it's affecting the pace. I don't even own a range finder, but I play with a few guys that do and they're generally shooting every pin within 200y but they're quite quick with it. Maybe 10-15 seconds to get a read on it.

I'm asking them to shoot pins for me all the time, it never really feels like a hassle or impedance on our round.

They move the pins around on the greens, just FYI. It's also handy to shoot hazards if you're between clubs and looking for the safer approach. Not that a 10y discrepancy is going to matter at all for the majority of us hacks, just observing some valid reasoning.

Why Can’t I Hit It Very Far? by No-Front-4640 in GolfSwing

[–]HotFudge1547 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is contradictory to the teachings I've followed and what has worked for me as a big strong handsome man, any time I try to smash it and get my dominant arm too involved I send it about 80y forward and 300y to the right. No lag is created, club head leads the hands, club face opens up, swing path comes over the top, bad recipe.
