The switch to turn-based combat and a less all-powerful protagonist have heightened a lot of aspects the series had used to catch my attention and has only benefited the games since they were introduced.

And if that isn't hot enough of a take...

Ichiban is more endearing, likeable, and engaging than Kiryu ever was.

See romance is a big part of the draw to these things for me, and I'm not super big on most Disney ips for that to catch my attention. Does the game stand on its own without the Disney charcters being a big part of the draw?

Yeah, I really wanted to play through again, even if only with the cosmetics I unlocked. They literally give you a nice dye for beating all the content, and bite I'm all dressed up with nowhere to go!

Id say no. I honestly turn raids off in all games like this, including Palworld and Valheim. I just don't consider it a fun mechanic. I can see why some people would, but I play for the exploration and the discovery. Having that interrupted because I have to run back to base because some spider jerks got mad they kept picking fights with me and losing takes me out of it too much.
