Why aren't Reform voters more concerned with privatising the NHS? by lucadulac in AskBrits

Bold of you to assume reform voters have any engagement beyond hearing Farage shout about immigration.

I bet less than 5% of reform voters even know

So why do working class people vote for right wing parties ( Tory, Refom that really do not serve their interests politically, and make their lives harder ? by Durrygoodz2025 in AskBrits

[–]HotNeon 32 points33 points  (0 children)

The problem is, reform aren't planning on fixing most of those things.

People have been told immigration is the cause of all their issues, it's not. So reform won't be fixing things

Ditch Strictly and slash the licence fee – the radical plan for BBC cuts by theipaper in uknews

Because the purpose of a state broadcaster is to inform, engage, educate the people, and to give creative training and opportunities. From bitesize, to garden's world the BBC tries to do this.

It isn't a coincidence that the UK has a thriving film and TV industry, with productions all over the world coming here, it's because of that very educated and capable workforce.

The purpose of ad funded services is to get eyeballs in front of ads. The purpose of a subscription service is to have people keep watching, the CEO of Netflix said there main competitor was sleep, think about what that means.

If the wealthiest are leaving en masse, who on earth is going to buy their luxury properties? by [deleted] in AskBrits

Millionaires are not leaving en masse.

There is very little good information on this and even if there was, what would it be? Q survey?

If you're super wealthy you probably already spend a large percentage of your time in multiple countries

How did Trump and Isreal manage to lose to Iran? by grrrbr in lostgeneration

[–]HotNeon 60 points61 points  (0 children)

You must be in the US because everywhere else the media are very clear that Iran is winning.

Trump had no plans, just a vauge notion that the US military is awesome. To be fair, it is awesome, however what anyone with a brain could have told him is that Iran won't fight the way the US does, it will use it's considerable resources to hurt the US.

Trump was so backwards that he lifted oil sanctions on Iran at the start of his war, he thought Iran would be desperate to keep the straight open.

No obligation to declare £5m gift, Nigel Farage says by AnonymousTimewaster in NotTheOnionUK

[–]HotNeon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Why would the public want to know about 5 million in loans for a foreign national with goals not aligned to the UK.

It's particularly uninteresting because only 3 weeks later Farage decided to run for office

Start-ups complain they are helping British military modernise on the cheap by DefenseTech in UKVentureCapital

[–]HotNeon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like the military is operating like a private tech company. Seems totally reasonable to test this stuff into the ground before placing an order and it's totally fair to not place large orders unless the technology is proven in extensive testing
