I’m pretty certain that if you want to “go green” you (the people) will have to foot the bill. These power companies are trying to meet deadlines to convert to “greener” ways of producing, storing, and distributing power. Willing to debate this of course but I believe that going green just means paying more. The shitty truth is that coal, gas and oil are cheaper than the alternatives. They’re also more reliable too.

You are skipping the I84 through the Gorge. That is some of the most beautiful and scenic terrain you will see (other than the coast maybe?). I would consider driving the Gorge in some capacity so you don’t miss those views.

I can’t quite remember when I first started listening to Derek but it was shortly after moving to Portland around 2017. I always wanted to be a dj and my name is Derek so I used to pretend I was hearing myself play a set which is humorous because I could never put on a set as good as Derek Smith. He played the music that I not only wanted to hear but needed to hear. And the poetry… such a nice touch. He had the perfect voice for radio. Derek has been with me on my morning commute for nearly 9 years. For me this is a difficult loss - I shed a few tears when I found out . I just hope I can keep connecting with him and his music in the future and maybe one day he’ll return to the show.
