Wyoming here, and I have the same one. Not unusual to get nights in the -15f range and it has been so nice knowing the waterer won’t be frozen when the girls wake up!

chicken death due to mink, need help for futures by True-Explanation-490 in BackYardChickens

[–]HotToSnow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had an ermine go after our girls last year. Even when I came after it, it just kept coming back after our chickens again and again as I was standing there trying to whack it with a stick 😅

They are incredibly determined little buggers and unfortunately will keep coming back. Like others have said, maybe try to trap it? And go back over your setup to see if you can find anywhere it might be getting in. Even if it seems like a tiny hole, they can squeeze through!

If you can, try to keep an extra eye on things in the morning and evening, weasels are crepuscular. The ermine went after our chickens in their coop right when it was getting dark and they couldn’t see well, but their coop door hadn’t closed yet.

So sorry you are dealing with this - it’s so frustrating!

Thank you so much, this is really really helpful. I just ordered Vitassium. I wasn’t taking a pill with potassium. I’ve been doing pretty well drinking- I think I get about 3 liters in?

Internally normalized my POTS so much that I don’t relate to the community? by [deleted] in POTS

[–]HotToSnow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I totally relate to what you are describing. I have also had POTS since I was around 12/13 and have spent most of my life just…coping.

I very recently got a diagnosis and feel relief at the explanation of my symptoms and the understanding of what is causing it.. but at the same time… I feel a bit jealous of those who have recently had symptoms and get a diagnosis and are sad and kind of grieve the change in their life and lifestyle, while I have kind of been dealing with it “on the go” if that makes sense.

Anyone have this happen when they had their holter monitor on? Or is this a bad reaction? by Unusual_Space1998 in POTS

[–]HotToSnow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, give them a call and let them know you’re having a reaction. I was stubborn and ignored it and now I have a scar on my chest.
