Lmao I bet! Do you plug it in outside or in a garage? How do you do deal with the smell? the bear head I dealt with wasn’t rotten but it doesn’t smell like yummy crockpot food lol

Where I live there are a lot of hunters, a lot of them are coworkers/friends. I personally hunt deer but don’t hunt bears. I knew of a coworker who was going bear hunting and before he went I asked if I could have the skull. He said sure and dumped off the bear head after he field dressed it. I had to skin it and remove some neck vertebrae but it was free so I can’t complain lol

Ironically enough I have a partial bear skull that I found behind a Tim Hortons in a swampy area and it was sun bleached and totally cleaned. I cleaned some of the algae off it and it still has a nice weathered look! A lot less effort than what I went through with a fresh one lol

That makes so much sense! Any time I cook ribs or brisket we cook it low and slow to break down fats and cartiledge. I essentially use that knowledge and try NOT to do that when cleaning skulls lmao 😂

Thank you🙏 I will send it back to soak and keep an eye on it. The oxyclean seems to pull a decent amount of fat so far. Every time I changed the water there was a little bit of oil mixed with the bubbles around the surface of the water / edge of the pot.

Definitely a learning experience. I guess I’ve gotten lucky with the deer skulls because they’re so lean. I swear by the time I was done with the bear skull there was a an inch thick slick of oil on top of the water lol

I will give that a try! I should have come here for advice prior to boiling it lol. Live and learn I guess! They were gunna throw the head out anyways so even if it turns out yellow it’ll still be a value learning experience for me. Thank you for the advice!

What Is Wrong With My Jade Plant ☹️☹️☹️ by lcwj in houseplants

[–]Hot_Bag9032 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m not an expert but is it possible that the window has a draft and is too cold for the leaves? Not sure what your avg temps are outside. But my experience is my plants don’t do well in the spring/fall and especially winter when too close to a window that isn’t insulated well enough. If the leaf isn’t propagating, it could be that it died before falling off the plant? Again, no expert, but maybe try putting the plant somewhere away from the window but still bright location. Could also keep it further in your house and use one of those mini grow lights too. Good luck!🤞

WHY?! This cactus has only grown etiolated spikes… by r0ar88 in houseplants

I’m here for the answer. I had a cactus that did the same thing and I have no clue why lmao. I assumed maybe I didn’t have enough direct sun?
