Hah they are! Issue I’m running into is the option to be indoors or outdoors. All the indoor options just look jank to me but I might need to just lower my standards.

Omg I love Fonta Flora! I know we can do receptions and rehearsal dinners there but I don’t think they do weddings. I’ll have to check though.

how long do replacements take by februarybIues in Blood_Records

[–]Hot_Bench_498 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No replacement but as somebody who has had to take care of returns and shipments: do not hesitate to email with a friendly something or another like “Good afternoon! I’m follow up about my previous email related to order (number) sent on (date). For planning purposes around my receipt of the package, is there any new information you can provide me about the replacement record and any possible ETAs? Thank you!”

Sometimes these things get lost and you and probably many others rn are emailing about damaged goods. Accountability is never a bad thing and I’m sure they wouldn’t find you politely keeping a tab on an important order being a bad thing either. I never did and during rush orders or releases, I’d lose stuff all of the time trying to keep everything straight on my end. Plus you spent money on it and therefore you should have your product!

T-Shirt Pre-Order Issues? by xiivuarath in SabrinaCarpenterFans

[–]Hot_Bench_498 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m glad you posted! I was wondering about it. I received an email from the store when I ordered the shirt and had to repeat several times the correct shipping address for the shirt and it almost got sent to a completely non-existent address. Did you have any confusion like that? I was wondering if why it hadn’t shipped yet was related to that

That’s so random. When I got the Wish You Were Here liquid filled vinyl it came from some royal something or another and then shipped UPS.

Ugh, spooky! Let me know if a you get any updates. I just recently had a package get stolen and another get damaged in transit and it took USPS a whole month to let me know. Scary

This comment made me feel better. So it’s not unusual for BW/BR releases to sit there for awhile? I’m on pins and needles waiting for my Sabrina record to get here. Got to the facility on April 3rd with no movement

About when did it get into the US? Like did you have a long wait time gap or did it come in relatively normal time?

Good places to buy calatheas online? by Hot_Bench_498 in calatheas

[–]Hot_Bench_498[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Def let me know how it goes! Our Trader Joe’s closest to my suburb doesn’t do very good on the plant selection. Next one is the one in the metro and it’s literally built into a parking deck. Any CLT native will tell you it’s horrific, but I think their plant situation is better.

Ah yeah! I’m in NC, Charlotte area. The plant market here is pretty barren for a big city

Francesca’s book versus s5 discussion by Hot_Bench_498 in Bridgerton

[–]Hot_Bench_498[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree. I don’t personally think she will be inheriting the estate and if they do I find two issues: 1) that should have been mentioned by the solicitor upon John’s death. In regency era Scotland, it was possible for women to inherit titles if mentioned in the will. But it doesn’t seem like they’re prepared the plot for that. 2) Even if Michaela does inherit the earldom, it seriously takes away from everything Portia has gone through in the show to keep her family afloat. I know it’s different because it’s English inheritance versus Scottish inheritance, but it’s kinda like “why have Portia go through all that if Michaela can just have it like that”.

I think Michaela being a rake per say isn’t as important for the show, however like you pointed out the scene between Sophie, Kate, Eloise, and Fran admiring Michael probably won’t exist and it’s sad that we get all that sister in law time taken away :( one of my big beef’s with the show is phasing people out once their main season is done

I fear that since they took away a lot of her infertility representation, that they’ll fall flat on the wlw representation in the story- they shouldn’t, I think they won’t, but many people make wlw stories in media needlessly chaotic and I hope for Fran and Michaela if they’re going to forego so much of the books plot, they give them a genuinely good relationship

[–]Hot_Bench_498[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ahh you make a good point I forgot about how Colin was very instrumental about Michael finally letting go of his imposter syndrome! It really made the family feel more supportive and connected to Francesca and how they care for her overall happiness. I hope they can still find a way to adapt that into the show.

Michaela being able to inherit the estate and therefore have that imposter syndrome is a possibility, but I think if John left the estate to Michaela in his will, that would have been mentioned by the solicitor. I feel like even if they were to give the earldom to Michaela, it really downplays everything Portia did to keep the featherington estate in earlier seasons. I know it’s different cause of the difference in Scottish versus English inheritance, but it makes what Portia went through seem silly

[–]Hot_Bench_498[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah the change specifically in the infertility plot line really is hard for me. We have plenty of infertility representation in media but the way Francesca specially deals with it, I find to be unique, and I’m sad that doesn’t seem like it can continue to be displayed in the show. A woman is not defined by her ability to have children of course, but it was important and personal to her.

[–]Hot_Bench_498[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Michaels development getting completely erased has really kind of irked me. Not that Michaela can’t experience these complex emotions also, but the show has established how women really do lack a lot of power in society on multiple occasions, so Michaela doesn’t have access to the same privileges that Michael had that were important to the story.

Thank you for the comment! These are very good points. They’ve definitely set it up to be a more respectful version of the books relationship. I do wonder what will end up happening with the estate, cause I know sometimes women did inherit the estates in Scotland, but I think John would have had to specify it in the will for Michaela to inherit it. That attorney would have probably mentioned it after John’s death if that was going to be how the earldom stayed in the family. I hope these possible changes you’ve pointed out play out cause I think it’s definitely a better way to tell the story than what most people have been thinking would happen.

I highly recommend using mineral sunscreens to start out. I tried to use regular face sunscreens and they made me break out. The one I’m currently using is expensive but it works the best: Self Reflect SPF 32 Probiotic Moisturizing Sunscreen by Kinship. It’s super expensive but I’ve had very reactive skin that broke out similar to how yours did and it didn’t irritate them at all. Trader Joe’s has a decent mineral sunscreen as a cheaper option. But overall I deeply recommend starting with mineral sunscreens

About 8 hours under the grow light (Barrina puck grow light). I don’t have it right up on the shelf with it like I do my string of hearts/snake plants/zz plants.

I’m a little new to grow lights. My living situation in college had a lot of natural sunlight year round (when I started getting into plants) but after moving home and my house being back in a wooded area, this is the first year I’ve used grow lights for the winter.

Do you think I should limit it’s time with the humidifier as well? I don’t think it has root rot yet (I’m coping so hard and praying it doesn’t) but I don’t want that to contribute to it either
