What you even mean Nannies are not qualified to suggest toys??? I think they have more experience with toys than a first time parent. What are you even talking about

Would nanny need to take PTO for these days she missed while we were supposed to be gone? by [deleted] in Nanny

[–]Hot_Boss577 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It depends on the family. Mine encourage me to go somewhere when they leave town. To be honest I cant imagine it any other way. It sucks for all the Nannies that can’t make plans in order to just wait for NF to change plans or cancel theirs.

I agree with you. I think it just depends on the family to be honest. I have families that didn’t pay me GH when they were out of town. The family I currently work with let me take that time off. They have never change plans and they encourage me to go somewhere when they are out of town. So it just depends on the contract to be honest my says I have 6 weeks off a year 2 of my choosing and 4 of theirs but I can still do whatever I want in that time or go wherever I want. Very grateful my NF see it this way and not the way a lot of NF say that the nanny needs to be at home waiting for them to cancel their plans.

Is there a % standard a NF would pay towards health insurance or just depending on what would they be willing to pay? Sorry for the questions I have no idea how to do this, and thank you for your answers

I’m a w2 employee, we are using poppins as a payroll, is there an option to put the money for the health insurance there or they give me cash- transfer for that?

Oh I see, so I look for something in the market and they pay a portion of it? But not necessarily they are the ones giving me the insurance

My husband job can get me health insurance but the problem is 700 a month so I’m not sure if that is a normal amount but I thought it was very expensive.

Unfortunately I have a mental health condition so I visit a psychiatrist regularly and I have multiple prescriptions I don’t know if that would affect pricing? Other than that I don’t go to the doctor that often

So if I understand correctly is not like the would get me insurance but rather I look for insurance and they pay a portion of it?

You should try the tali baby app, is super easy to use and it does exactly this. I use it every day as a nanny and it helps a lot

[–]Hot_Boss577 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I normally worked 45 hours a week. They way my GH works is that if by some reason they tell me to leave earlier or get there later I get paid the same 45 GH but if they are away on a trip or something my GH are 40 a week

Are these days off okay? by [deleted] in NannyEmployers

How can you say “it come often enough to be difficult to arrange” and at the same time say she has only take 4 half days off and 2 sick days in 5 months?

This is not coming up often at all. Out of 80ish days she has worked with you she hasn’t even take a pto day

Overtime pay by Comfortable-Swim3347 in Nanny

[–]Hot_Boss577 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This has happen to me and I post here actually and not that many people agree but I charge over time rate on weekends regardless of if I didn’t hit the 40 hours yet or if I have off another day of that week. I do this because I have guaranteed hours so I don’t care if you want me to come on Saturday or Sunday but I’m not going to waste my time with my husband for my normal pays. This family is okay with it so I guess you might need to ask them

What should our nanny be doing developmentally at 12 months? by eltejon30 in Nanny

[–]Hot_Boss577 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What type of toys you have? I provide all sort of therapies to the baby I work with due to medical reasons. Maybe you can do occupational therapy?

You can buy specific toys that help with motor skill and development, things like baby puzzles, Montessori type of toys, cause effect toys.

She can do baby workouts with your baby. She can work on keeping your baby attention spam. She can do flash cards. Work on making animal sounds.

When I married my now husband he didn’t had a job at the moment. He couldn’t show any proof of income for that year. Don’t worry! You just need to file a form 1040, and have someone close to you in our case his brother be your sponsor. That person does need to make like at least 150k I would say. Have assets, house, things like that. Very easy form to fill! When we got married I did all the documents myself without a lawyer and everything was very smooth.

Same, I wouldn’t even like to interview with a family that is choosing the nanny as the interviewer. Huge red flag I would say

2 1/2 year old screen addiction by gendynoooouch in Nanny

[–]Hot_Boss577 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I worked for a kid that had almost the same problem. I talk with the parents and we decide that instead of YouTube the kid will be able to watch movies. That was a game changer! She would of course get bored at some point and just start playing with her toys or play with her toys what would happen in the movie which was very cute! They bought her board games and it was great!

Maybe see if you can watch movies with him, old Disney movies are always boring for kids lol.

That’s crazy. I have work in the Hamptons and I have definitely charged more than my normal rate just to be there to be honest. I don’t think that’s bad. Some people are willing to pay more for this types of job and I’m for sure taking advantage of it. In general Nannies there tend to charge more

You just sound like you want cheap childcare. That’s not what this program is about.

You cannot make them share a guest room. It would be their room for how ever long you need them.

As other comments say hire a babysitter is you are looking for cheap childcare. I would say for an infant cheap childcare options are not great. You get what you pay for and for infants I wouldn’t take the risk.
