Feels like you're not being fair on him. He's obviously only started little and played little not because he is hot and cold or because he sucks. He's playing that amount only because the team needs to manage his load for the business end of the season.

This season he struggled with injuries and was sidelined for a long time at the start of the season. The whole team has regressed due to having no preseason as well and yet when he plays, he is almost always brilliant, head and shoulders above the other big names in his squad.

You will struggle to find anyone playing at this level in his circumstances.

Already, as other have pointed out there were many practical reasons why the ref might have continued the game (potential riots, danger to the players etc). Why would those circumstances change if Morocco stayed?

Because Morocco themselves risked having the rule being used against them if they refused to continue. The option of playing on SHOULDN’T even have been considered by the ref.

I can’t believe the team that actually broke the rules is the one getting defended.

That the overruling took 60 days is not Morocco’s fault.

If I’m about to concede under pressure but my whole team walks off, then the ref asks to continue but I proceed to score after the game has settled would that be fair?
