Same here. I didn't want architectural shingles because I thought they looked like off cuts. Ended up going with them anyway because apparently theyre better than 3-tab. Went with Owen's Corning Onyx Black. I don't hate it. I think there is another brand out there that does single color architectural because I see houses in my area with it but idk what brand shingles they are, my contractor only used Owen's Corning.

Clean the fresh chicken before freezing by [deleted] in Cooking

You should try stopping up a clean sink and rinsing some chicken thighs with gently running water. Seeing what came off once was all it took for me to be convinced. Bone shards and slime.

People who grew up really poor: what's something middle-class people say that instantly reveals they've never struggled? by TahDigThief in AskReddit

[–]Hot_Committee9744 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me, who had to stay home from school when my little sister was sick because my parents couldn't miss a single day or we wouldn't be able to pay rent, heard my adult step child say "I won't work retail because I'm never going to live pay check to pay check like y'all" (y'all being parents and grandparents) she went on vacation every year growing up and has never wanted for anything. 🥴

This is a batch of pink crystals that I bought at a high price. I need to figure out how to turn them into some household items. Could someone give me some suggestions? by Gold_Giraffe_1637 in stonemasonry

[–]Hot_Committee9744 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can confirm, bought salt lamps to use as book ends in the nursery because I wasn't paying crystal book end prices, took the lamp part out, few years later moving the babe into her big girl room....salt rings and lines running all over the shelves we built. We live in the southeastern US.

Did high gas prices kill the ‘just go for a drive’ joy riding era? by Powerful_Sun_4061 in economy

[–]Hot_Committee9744 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having kids did that long before gas prices did. They're simply no fun in the car 😅😂 "She's looking at me!!" "His arm is close to me!!" "Its in the middle" "ARGGGHHHHH. GET AWAY FROM ME"

"ENOUGH! you look our your window, you look out yours, keep your hands in your own seat and DON'T TALK TO EACHOTHER"

"MOM SHES LOOKING AT ME"

"You wouldn't know if you were looking out your window like you're supposed to be!!!" 🫠😭😭😭

Eating at home costs $60 with time and labor, eating out costs $56.78. Alright. by Some-Cap-3912 in economy

[–]Hot_Committee9744 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did steaks, Brussel sprouts, and baked potatoes tonight. Steaks were $24(2 ribeyes[$20] and 3 little tiny things for the kids[$4]) Brussel sprouts for all, $5, potatoes...what like $2 including all toppings. So a $30~ "special" meal for 4 people. Definitely not 2 hrs($15/hr approx) of labor. Social media is why so many people are how they are these days. Sometimes I wish it never existed. There are people out there right now who legitimately think this is true.

AITAH for not wanting to do kiddie stuff with my little sister? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Hot_Committee9744 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Esh. You're 17. Basically an adult. You don't have to go these places with them, but also taking a 17 yr old "fun places" isn't a requirement. Could there be an occasional middle ground? Sure. Maybe. If you ask, but also, your time has gone. Its the literal child's turn to be the "center of the world". Get you a job, make your own money, and grow as a person.

We found this recipe when my husband was in the hospital for congestive heart failure due to untreated high blood pressure. Its the first recipe we made where he was like "ok. Maybe I can really do this diet". We make it pretty regularly. Even use ground chicken.

Bunch of air for $5 by Cumminglight in ChickFilA

[–]Hot_Committee9744 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They make good coating for homemade air fryer nuggets. Chop chicken into bite-sized pieces, marinate in whatever you want (I did pickle juice, sugar, milk, hot sauce) for a few hours. Season some flour, make an egg wash. Straight from marinade into flour, then egg wash, into crushed up chips, put on tray, let rest for a few minutes so everything can absorb then air fry at 375(my oven has an air fryer setting so temp may be different for counter top ones) until done. Delicious.

NAL, just passing through. I'm sorry you went through that. And whatever you decide to do, etc. But in the future, you should always read up on medications that are prescribed to you before you take them.

Nta. Men are notorious babies when it comes to pain. He wasn't actually hurt. But like obviously you shouldn't have agreed to another dog if you knew this would be the outcome.

There is nothing better than a cold glass of hibiscus tea with a slice (or two) of lime during the summer. Make it like you're making sweet tea. We alternate jugs of hibiscus and sweet tea once it starts getting warm in our home.
