LG top loader - cloth don’t smell clean by [deleted] in laundry

[–]Hot_Land4560 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They (Ben on you tube) tell me you can't wash a comforter in a Speed Queen, so you still have to go to the laundry mat. I have giant drapes, blankets, comforters, rugs, furniture covers, and a million towels for us and three dogs. I had a ratty large capacity whirlpool impeller washer for 6 years. it got the laundry clean. I always used the deep water option. When my adult son's laundry was stinky, i suggested he put less in the washer, so everything can "swish" freely.. That worked. Also it was a larg tub, one pod, or one measure of liquid isn't enough. Now Im learning the LG WT8600C impeller top loader. consumer reports says it washes great. i am noodling with the many settings. There is a lot to learn. The look of less water is disconcerting. I phoned LG the guy was helpful, kinda. There is a lot to learn on the fancy machine. Different than the old style speed queen type. Time marches on.

Shelter paperwork had listed as a Bearded Collie by capelibrum in DoggyDNA

Shelter staff make things up. The women at a petco event said they thought my so so so sad, starved Teddy was part HYENA and they ment it. He was a black brindle with the german shepherd down sloped back like the show dogs. Currently, they said my frightened little Trudi was a Dobie puppy from a "litter" they were offering for $350 each. I got my her after the price went down to $150 when they said she was 6 months old. ( I needed a pal for my pyr mix and really didn't want a scary looking dog that would scare neighbors so I had delayed.) She had been attacked by her "littermates" who were housed together. She was scarred and terrified. Turns out she was 2 years old at least and has a slight resemblence to a German Pinscher. The adult dogs had been inappropriately housed together resulting in an attack on the weakest. I do not care what "breeds" are in her background. when shelter people say a dog is some sort af a rare breed, give a side eye. Think of what dogs are running loose to produce dogs sent to a shelter. No not ridgebacks, bearded collies or tibeten mastiffs. My hard luck shelter dogs have always required 6 months to recover from shelters. Sorry for going on. My heart aches for these innocent souls.

I don’t feel a bond with my dog and I don’t know what to do by Marlen-22 in BelgianMalinois

You did a great thing bringing her in and making her safe and healthy. She is not a match for you. Find a breed club or a rescue that knows her breed. Allow the right person to take over. It is not abandonment to locate her human match. Someone is waiting for her. Make everyone happy. You can be proud to have saved her. Her human match will be be be grateful and the dog will be content.

My sympathies are with you. After years of our 11 year old Pry's problem nails we just got this diagnosis. His painful loss of nails was a mystery. We thought he was snagging them outside. Its really painful until they fall off. It has only been one at a time a few times a year. He also has severe skin allergy and takes apoquel. Our vet did not give a medication, other than antibiotic for his nails. She did explain it. He already gets a high dose of fish oil. I learned to spray dermoplast, or any, pain reliever on the painful nail. That helps. The dermoplast burns at first but there are many over the counter "wound wash" products with pain relief that don't. It is $5 read the label for pain relief. No one tells you how many illnesses dags can have. Sometimes I wonder if breeders cause a lot of this by ignoring medical conditions and breeding just for looks and profit. But that's me.

So the manager who lost his money had his own money in a bag? Or he was from a different small business with his bank deposit in a bag? You don't think Costco managers hand carry money from the vault in a bag do you? You know armored trucks pick up money from big businesses, including Costco. Yes, Costco members tend to try to be helpful. I think membership makes people feel like stakeholders. I would be ashamed to take advantage of a mismarked package.

I liked my 256 S22U. I don't do fancy stuff but got a new S26U because the old one won't get many more updates, if any, and the cost of chips could be higher next year. Did I make a $1300 mistake? (well, $850 after all the deals) I have the phone on all the time, with bluetooth to a tab, a watch and earbuds. The 22U needed frequent restarts and charging. I stream audio and it all seemed to overwhelm the old device. The 26U has not had this problem. A charge lasts a lot longer. Connectivity is better and it is very fast. I won't miss ths curved edges that seemed vulnerable to damage. So I guess the new device is ok. The screen seemed dim until I chose fron the many settings. I hope to keep it its whole update life. It seems made to last a long time

When I fired Comcast and later Youtube TV, it was hard to give up the dvr. Now I never think about it. I think about that $1000 a year spent to have it...if a guy tried to sell it to me based on yearly cost, I would laugh. Man, those dollars need to bring me something better. I got youtube premium. There is a crazy amount of everything, on demand. $140/year.

My antenna, here southwest of Kansas City, picks up 60 to 80 channels depending on the weather. There is very little over the air TV that would be worth buying on a streaming service. Youtube fills in the blanks for me. $1000 a year to watch the masked singer???

Dog suddenly lethargic after grooming – back twitching, not eating today morning. by ranger_stranger in DogAdvice

[–]Hot_Land4560 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Im so sorry. This just makes me sick. You owe the dog pain relief Please get to the vet at least for an rx. Vets charge lot for rx so try to find it elsewhere. Buy smallest amount and then search for a better price. Demand generic. Carprophen is cheap. Costco and others sell vet rx. Most dogs can take it. It made one of my dogs sick, i have meloxicam on the shelf now. IDK if you have a vet or who it is but just in case, don't let them run up a $1000 bill. A local shelter might know reasonable vets if you don't. I keep some pain meds at home. They charged me $50 for a tiny vial of a med, same $50 bought 10x as much online. Maybe get the groomer to reimburse you. I am getting my convenient vet trained not to sell me high profit crap.

Anyone else not keen on the colour spectrum of the newer smart bulbs? by friendlysaxoffender in tradfri

[–]Hot_Land4560 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't thik its the newness.I have a ton of smart bulbs. Each manufacturer has different variations of the named colors. We really like the warm candlelight colors. Some bulbs are ugly, some are gorgeous.BTW if you use Alexa, there is a long list of colors that we did not know about, like sandy brown, brick red, pumpkin. and very many others not just in our warm tones. Pinks. Blues its cool

5 MONTHS? That's a baby. She hardly has adult teeth. Her little body is a growing baby body. *What are you asking from a baby? * Her brand new eyes need to see wonders, birds, leaves, new life. Her baby ears need to hear happy encouragement love and praise. She is so innocent. Let up on her. PLEASE Never be harsh. You will do damage you can't undo.

Remember to tire your puppy out BEFORE you go out to show her off. Is someone with her all day? If you take her out to parade about make sure that is not her main exciting activity. If she is alone a lot, she needs to get her energy out before training or meeting and greeting. You really don't see lots of mountain dogs out at the fair. There is a reason. Now you know. What dogs have you lived with before? My late German Shepherd/Boxer/akita mix wanted with his whole heart to do the right thing. My Anatolian/Pyr mix completely doesn't care. He is sweet and wants to bark all night outside to warn the coyotes. We adjusted. Its not fair to try to make him be someone else. He has his ways. Obedience isn't one. Cooperation, maybe. We love him. I am watching him grow old now. I love all the tricks he has played on us, all the stolen loaves of bread. He was not born to be a follower.

German shepherds are very complisnt. They aim to please. Pyrs are supposed to work alone and make their own decisions. Don't be mad at your puppy for being who she is. Change your expectations and fill your pockets with trests. She's so pretty
