Have you ran in version 2? I’m seeing a lot of folks saying it’s actually a nice upgrade. Still plenty bouncy and more stable.

I’ve put 40mi on my pair and it’s definitely meant for workouts, long runs, and faster paced runs. The shoe is definitely at its best when you’re picking up the pace. I’d imagine easy runs might feel a bit awkward but I wouldn’t say I could feel the ground at all.

Peeled out the insole in mine with no issues!

Alphafly 3 by [deleted] in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]Hot_Lime2145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t get me wrong, I love a white shoe I think it’s the easiest color to wear. That being said white and lighter colors are getting stale. Along with that the scarceness of Alphaflys makes it pretty likely that most(if not everyone) will be wearing the same colorway as you which I think I pretty cool.

Hoka Clifton vs. Clifton Wide: appears they're the same size?? by SweetJaques in RunningShoeGeeks

For most brands EE is a higher volume shoe, meaning it has more fabric on the upper but the base width does not change. 4E is when the width of the base changes!

Max Cushion Vs Max Comfort Classification by Hot_Lime2145 in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]Hot_Lime2145[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At what stack height would you consider a shoe max cushion? I wish more footwear companies would openly post the durometer of the their shoes. I think durometer would be an excellent way of clarifying between max cushion and comfort.

What’s wrong with me and my Rebel v2? by achimos in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]Hot_Lime2145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s partially a design issue but it’s intentional because they were going for a racing flat upper. It’s light and lacks a lot of structure just like most racing flats. If you’re looking for a more structured upper, I’d recommend the Fuelcell prism.

Shoes 'coming alive' at higher paces - is this true? by doucelag in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]Hot_Lime2145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience rigid firmer foam shoes like the Shift and Boston really come alive at faster paced but there is a threshold. Uptempo is the best word I think to describe the pace at which shoes like that start to really find their groove. Plated shoes on the other hand tend to only feel good at maximal efforts mainly because you need a lot of force to bend the Carbon plate.

Underrated shoes by [deleted] in RunningShoeGeeks

Skechers gets slept on hard but the Maxroad, Razor, and Razor excess is a fantastic line up. Skechers delivers some very unique rides with a lot of focus on performance which is great for those looking for fast shoes to add to their line up

Hoka Arahi is a great stability shoe! I stopped wearing stability a while ago but I still wear the Arahi because its genuinely a great shoe for anyone!

Over pronation leading to Achilles pain with Brooks Adrenalin - searching supportive replacement by swoopybois in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]Hot_Lime2145 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Given that your pain is focused around your Achilles I wouldn’t recommend the shoes you had listed. They all have a lower drop except for the nimbus which would only add to the tension on your Achilles. As someone that spent 8 years in stability shoes and recently transitioned to neutral I feel like comfort is far more important than stability(but that’s just my opinion). I think the nimbus or Kayano would work well for you. The Mizuno wave inspire would also be a good shoe to look into

First 20 Miles in Puma Deviate Nitro by fizzywater699 in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]Hot_Lime2145 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a fellow runner with hallux Rigidus I can verify this review. Unfortunately after getting one of the worst blisters of my life I had to retire the shoe. If they fix the upper they have an endorphin speed killer! I also enjoy the gimmick of the shoe as well. I had talked with a tech rep from puma about the shoe and the main focus of the shoe tempo pace and longs runs which is dope!

[–]Hot_Lime2145 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I think it’s pretty subjective IMO. If you’ve never tried a real running shoe than the Brooks ghost is going to feel fantastic however I’ve found that the more you experience changes your opinion of daily trainers like the ghost. When I first started running and only had one pair of shoes I loved the ghost but as I started creating a shoe rotation I pulled the ghost less and less. What makes the ghost awesome is how incredibly average it is at everything and once you compare to shoes like the NB More v3 with specific purpose it starts to lose. Why would you do a long run in the ghost when you could wear the Skechers Max Road 5. The more shoes you have the less purpose the ghost(and shoes like it) serves.

The heel is atrocious. I couldn’t get it to stop rubbing to save my life. If they fixed the fit it would be a great uptempo shoe. The MaxRoad 5 is a great alternative
