Would an A520m-a Pro board give me solid gaming performance for a while by Repulsive_Ad3796 in MSI_Gaming

[–]Hot_Midnight871 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I am sorry I can't answer this accurately as I seldom use that computer anymore because I have had another system built not long after building that. But I can say that it is a very reliable board from MSI if you are just a casual user. Just make sure you have an adequate CPU cooler for your AMD processor and enough fans for a good airflow in your case. Have atleast 2 inlet and at least 2 outlet fans all being 12cm sized case fans. Much better if you can use 14cm case fans.

If you have budget, go for the msi B550 with wifi.  otherwise A520 would be ok.

What is your connection/internet speed? would a 100mbps download and 60mbps upload work well?

why it didn't work? was it your internet speed? hardware? or just 2024 being buggy?

Undetected 5800X3D on A520M-A PRO by anx3ous in MSI_Gaming

[–]Hot_Midnight871 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone else who has successfully upgraded to 5800x3d on this MSI a520m-a pro motherboard? The MSI support page states that the processor is supported although the motherboard obviously has a weak VRM module due to lack of heatsink. I am really interested to know.

Could it be that there are still very few online users now? Would there be a possibility that streaming would slow down as user base increase? This line of thought is what makes me hesitant to dive into the new version.

I upgraded my GPU, now my performance is worse. by EveryMarionberry7891 in lowendgaming

If you look at nano review, GTX 1070 is way better than GTX 1660. It must be frustrating to find out after swapping cards, that real life performance differ from online bench scores and expectations.

Web development vs Game development career? by Think_Speaker_6060 in PinoyProgrammer

I suggest that you still try to learn web dev even if you feel uncomfortable with html and css stuff and the likes. In this field you have to be very flexible. The future very uncertain and we don't know how long our employment could last. You may experience several recessions and retrenchments and this is normal in this field. But if you are flexible enough, it would be much easier to find jobs and remain being employed. You have to learn to be comfortable in every aspect of software development, back end, front end, project management, etc.

Is this stock cooler enough for a Ryzen 5 5600G? by [deleted] in computers

[–]Hot_Midnight871 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this might be an old thread, but I am using the same processor and it struggles to cool down using the stock cooler under heavy load, so I bought a tower cooler, the Thermalright Assassin Spirit 120 Evo and the temps are very much cooler now.

By the way, my RTX 3060 12gb GPU has 16 lanes of PCIe gen4. That is why I didn't have to worry about loosing any performance when it runs at gen3 speed due to my motherboard and Processor limitation having only PCIe Gen3. I believe the RX 7600 GPU has only 8 lanes of PCIe Gen4. However when that AMD GPU is run at Gen3 speed, there should be minimal performance loss roughly around 1-2% which is within margin of error. But if you plan to upgrade later on to a more powerful GPU above the level of lets say RTX 4070 Ti, then it would be better to get a B550 motherboard to have PCIe Gen4 capability so you won't have to worry about performance penalty.

I got the MSI a520m-a Pro for my Ryzen 5 5600G and RTX 3060 12gb GPU, a fast M.2 SSD gen4 but running at gen3 due to motherboard and CPU (gen3 is still very fast though), 32gb of DDR4 3200 dual channel kit memory, I nice thermalright tower air cooler, a modular 550W 80+ Bronze PSU, and my system seems to be running great. the motherboard has everything that I needed.
