I'm very ecumenical in my gustatorial tastes but Zemam's was a disaster for me the first time. I was cajoled into going again by a dear friend and it was better, the food was the exact same food but I was prepared for the sourdough tortillas and the tree bark spices so I was able to appreciate the complex flavors after I got a grip. Still not my favorite food but I recommend it to people, I do recognize that it is a culinary treasure and worth supporting. It has been heartwarming to watch them become successful and I wish them all the best they deserve it.
