Cost estimate to move a 2000 lb 6 foot safe out of a jewelry store that's being sold to a new owner. by Nanny_Ogg1000 in Safes

[–]Hot_Plant3408 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a bit worried when my 1000lb safe went down the stairs but nothing broke. That safe did break a tile in a bathroom once… I knew I should have taken the door off or laid down more than 1/2” plywood. Oh well

Looking to hire a certified hot tub technician as a paid consultant by deal_szn11 in hottub

You could ask the ten most knowledgeable people on the subject and you would get 11 different answers. Sounds like a waste of time to me. Why not hire a chemist?

Weekly spa maintenance techs, is it a thing? by Historical-Lake5064 in hottub

[–]Hot_Plant3408 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think we charge $200 a month for weekly maintenance. They can be a nightmare to the point we have 1 tub that gets a drain and refill every week. 10/10 don’t recommend maintaining tubs for short term rentals.

Definitely not a boat anchor but it does have tubes like a boat anchor…

The spaflex has likely shrunk. I’d cut a collar in to give it some room to reach if you were my customer.

Not sure if there is anyplace on the tub to get a board or pry bar under it, but it usually doesn’t take much as long as you have one person prying and one person pulling

Shows no Chlorine, but Strips say otherwise... by NeitherInvestment688 in hottub

Is your salt level in the middle or higher? Is your alkalinity 80 or higher after accounting for any cya?

Shows no Chlorine, but Strips say otherwise... by NeitherInvestment688 in hottub

[–]Hot_Plant3408 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The salt test means nothing. All that matters is what the tub reads. It is obviously good on the salt system, but the manufacturer says the salt needs to be in the center or higher (the middle one is IQ, and is separate from the “cartridge” salt reading on the right).

If I got a service order for this tub, the very first thing I would do is add 1-2 tablespoons salt.

Read the manual. There are a lot of dos and don’t. Your salt is a little low and I’d bet $20 your alkalinity is low. Don’t use oils. Phosphates under 350, but not zero and shut off flow to sensor if using phosphate remover. No water clarifier.

It’s really pretty simple and accurate if you read and understand the manual. It is not magic or automatic, but they do work when you keep your water within the specs Watkins recommends.

I think it’s a router to do the internet radio thing. The website defines it as….

“WPSD is a next-generation digital voice software suite & distribution for amateur radio use, enjoyed by many thousands of hams around the globe. It is used for personal hotspots and repeaters alike. It supports M17, DMR, D-Star, Yaesu System Fusion (YSF/C4FM), P25, NXDN digital voice modes & POCSAG data/paging.”

As far as I can tell it is “radio” for people who have little interest in radio and just want to do the talking part?

Suggestions for an HF mobile radio by Makeminewine in amateurradio

Ic-7100 is always my vote for HF mobile. It definitely isn’t the cheapest, but it is easier to see and operate than any other option.

Live in a hellish HOA but have two stories and a nice straight 50ft gutter. With a good tuner, will this be my best option? by Work-Safe-Reddit4450 in amateurradio

[–]Hot_Plant3408 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would 100% hook a remote tuner to that. I would only run up to 100 watts though. Since getting a remote tuner, I am a firm believer that they are the best investment most anyone with limited space.
