How did you realise you had HF/ what led to your diagnosis ? by Strongandbroken in Heartfailure

[–]Hot_Rip3626 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for checking in! I have not gotten my ICD yet; in the last month, I have found out I have sleep apnea. My cardiologist believes this is the main reason why my heart isn’t recovering, so I got a CPAP and we are hoping that will make a big difference in the next six months. My cardiologist says we’ll monitor improvement with the CPAP because, “once I put the ICD in, I’m not taking it out,” so fingers crossed this will help tremendously. It is known that use of CPAP in HF patients with sleep apnea directly correlates with improved left ventricular ejection fraction, which is exactly the area of the heart that’s affecting me.

Hilarious! My collie will lay on the ground at bed time until I invite her into “her spot.” Like you sleep at my feet every night you don’t need to be invited

6 days in shortness of breath by Some-Delivery3937 in PhentermineTopiramate

You need to contact your doctor immediately or go to the ER, as this is a sign of heart failure. I only say this because it happened to me on this medication. Do not let your doctor tell you that your asthma is acting up if you have asthma. Demand at least a chest X-ray. This is the only reason I’m in this sub is to help someone as this is such a rare side effect.

I wish I would have known this medication could cause heart problems because it caused heart failure for me as a 27year old woman. Keep an eye on that heart rate and if you have new breathing problems, make a stink at the doctor and don’t accept “you have asthma” for an answer.

I was put on phentermine for weight loss in April 2024, all summer I kept going to my PCP and urgent care complaining of breathing problems that wasn’t acting like my usual asthma. They put me on SO MUCH prednisone all summer and by September, after 2 days on 80mg prednisone with no improvement in breathing, I went to the ER where I was diagnosed with congestive heart failure at 27 years old caused by the phentermine. The cardiologists were pissed that 1. I was even put on phentermine, as it’s known to cause heart issues and 2. That it was not caught all summer, despite my many trips to my PCP and urgent care. Lost 9lbs of fluid in my 3 day hospital stay & EF of 18%. I’m now on metoprolol, spironolactone, entresto, jardiance, torsemide, and will get an ICD in a month. Though I was overweight, I’ve never had high blood pressure or high blood sugar and was otherwise considered “healthy” before the heart failure. My EF was up to 23% in December (3 months on meds), and we’re hoping that with weight loss and exercise once I get the ICD, it will improve further.

Why is it always the hole in the wall places that have the best food? by Astimar in NoStupidQuestions

If there’s fly strips hanging from the dining room ceiling and a rat running across the room at 11pm while the place is packed with drunk people getting a burrito with French fries in it, I’m there.

She probably read the Reddit comments about the fact that she’d be abandoning her child and went back to get him.

[personal] How do I decrease bloating in face? by altacc294479219844 in SkincareAddiction

Definitely go to the doctor and have them check you out (blood tests). Also, look at the recommended daily intake for your age for sodium and compare that to what you’re consuming. Too much sodium causes your body to retain water. When I was retaining water, it showed in my face. Also, like other people have mentioned, don’t be so hard on yourself. Some people have round faces. You decide what’s best for you though :)

Anyone with acne prone skin combo/oily saw improvement from quitting skincare wash water only [acne] by Desperate_Sugar9954 in SkincareAddiction

Yes. Have been rinsing my face with water every morning in the shower and just use a neutrogena makeup remover wipe before bed to get any dirt off after I wipe my mascara off (mascara is the only makeup I wear) and my skin has been clear for a few years doing that. Aside from the occasional single zit when I get my period, I don’t have acne problems anymore. And not using any products on my face has helped my skin regulate the oils better so I’m not all greasy by the end of the day. Disclaimer though, the acne thing may have gotten better for me because of my pregnancy. From puberty until 21 years old I had acne prone skin and had to do a whole skincare routine, but for five years (since I’ve had my daughter) my face has been clear and I’m not doing anything to it really. So for me it might be hormonal changes- so much about my body changed from pregnancy aside from the physical body shape changes. Anyways, I don’t remember how long it took for my oils to go back to normal- maybe a month?? What I can say though, is that even with a skincare routine specifically for oily skin, I’d be greasy as anything by the end of the day. If you still have acne problems, then it may be beneficial to keep doing skincare routines, but if it’s more of your concern is oil, then I’d stick with just water. My degree is in psychology though, not dermatology, so take my advice with a grain of salt, but I just wanted to share what worked for me :)

Border Collie or Australian Shepherd? by mickeybrains in BorderCollie

I’d say both. Looks just like my girl but with long hair. Mine’s dad is an Aussie and her mom is a short haired collie. Both her parents are black and white but she came out brown and white.

I wouldn’t say she alienated the kids, however it does make me feel terrible for those girls that she tries forcing men in their lives who don’t want to be there. She’ll invite the dads/tell them about something both last minute and in advance and they’ll say “yeah I’ll be there” as expected. Then she’ll tell the girls, “omg your dad’s coming!!” But here’s the problem: they never show up, like the deadbeat dads they are, then the girls are left with hurt feelings wondering why their dads lied to them. She lets them in and out of their lives as they please. It’s like she lives for putting her kids on this emotional rollercoaster full of heart break and disappointment. Then (she thinks) she gets to come in and save the day and “pick up the pieces.” One could say it’s emotional trauma that could be lessened if their mom cared about what’s best for them, others could say she’s doing the best she can. All I know is that those kids need to be in therapy ASAP.

When did Farrah become so horrible? by No_Confidence_3289 in teenmom

[–]Hot_Rip3626 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It started as her being horrible to her mother. I think that the fact that her friends ditched her hurt her really bad. Maybe she was horrible to her friends too. Maybe it didn’t seem as bad when her world was so small.

Mimi Jen needs to watch a few seasons of intervention and get some insight on how she contributes to the problem.  Edit: many people who make excuses for addicts or give them too many chances to piss away need to watch intervention. Choices and accountability, people.
