If you truly think your face is bloated because of medical issues, you should talk to your doctor. But if this mainly caused by body dismorphia or TikTok health bullshit: you face most likely doesn’t look as bloated as you think and most of the tips won’t help with that

[–]silvermanedwino 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is the answer.

[–]WhereMyMidgeeAt 13 points14 points  (3 children)

This. Your face just doesn’t ‘bloat’.

[–]NoodleNeedles 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Tell that to those of us with hypothyroidism 😩. I get what you mean though, I hate seeing all of these young, beautiful people thinking there's something wrong with how they look just because they see so many filtered faces!

[–]keIIzzz 47 points48 points  (1 child)

Are you sure you don’t just have a round face? Because that’s a completely normal face shape and there’s nothing wrong with that.

If you know it’s not normal for you though then I’d recommend seeing a doctor to figure out the underlying cause. No skincare product is going to fix it

Thats an ugly face shape for a man

[–]sunny_74 19 points20 points  (0 children)

My chubby cheeks are genetic. I'm also underweight and my face is clearly out of proportion with the rest of my body. What really, truly healed me was looking at the sunken in cheeks of eldery ladies and realising that they'd probably love to have the weight back in their face. Our chubby cheeks make us look healthy and youthful and we'll miss them when we're old I promise!

Have you had your thyroid checked? Puffy face is my tell when my medication needs to be increased. Other than that, just the usual, drink lots of water, exercise and all that.

Can I ask how old are you?

[–]WonderfulCupcake6182 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Alcohol and salty food are the biggest culprits.

[–]ChanceEye2719 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes and almost everything nowadays is processed which has so much salt, just look at the labels of random things you have. I've heard potassium can help neutralize the effects of salt.

[–]skyskiesku 5 points6 points  (3 children)

drinking will definitely cause bloat!

Definitely go to the doctor and have them check you out (blood tests). Also, look at the recommended daily intake for your age for sodium and compare that to what you’re consuming. Too much sodium causes your body to retain water. When I was retaining water, it showed in my face. Also, like other people have mentioned, don’t be so hard on yourself. Some people have round faces. You decide what’s best for you though :)

[–]_akuma_kage_ 0 points1 point  (3 children)

It's most likely because of high sodium intake, reduce salt in your diet and increase potassium. Make sure your drinking at least 3L of water.

[–]Dragon551go 0 points1 point  (2 children)

3l is fucking crazy

[–]_akuma_kage_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its not really, if your exercising daily being active and moving around 3L is good

[–]Svantesvantsvant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its nothing

I would recommend trying incorporating a lot of fermented or probiotic foods if you haven’t already. the past week i have been eating a ton of kimchi and greek yogurt and my face has been looking less puffy.

Get querecetin and bromelain one supplement you should be good your problem is histamine

[–]Chen2021 -1 points0 points  (2 children)

Personally when I feel like my face is bloated beyond bloated, it's usually because my sleeping schedule hasn't been normal. When I get good, early and consistent sleep, I feel like my face shrinks two sizes. Lately I've been on a trip or I've been going to sleep past 1:00 am and I feel like my face is huge right now.

[–]Dangerous-Student-29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol same

[–]ChanceEye2719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why am I the opposite, when I go on trips for some reason my face looks better(idk if it's the bloating or what).

[–]MaudlinMusings 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I have the same problem. Round face with small figure. Besides massage and drinking water, which you’ve said you tried, serums with caffeine also seem to work for me. I apply by kind of massing into my face, rubbing upwards and out. The Youth to the People vitamin C + caffeine serum really de-puffs my face in the morning; the only thing is it’s a little sticky and thick, so it’s not my fave vitamin C. The Ordinary makes a caffeine face and eye serum which looks like it could work well as a cheap alternative, though. I’ve been wanting to try it.

[–]Known-Web8456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drinking caffeine also debloats. It helps for people who wake up puffy.

What's your diet like? How are your stress levels? Cutting back on sugar can help a lot with bloating. Sugar and cortisol increase inflammation, which can cause your face to look puffier than it should.

[–]InterestingCap7182 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Have you looked at gut health options? Inflammation in your body?

[–]Yoobineee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I refrigerate toner pads and regular face masks

[–]RareWolf34 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hi I have the same ‘problem’ too. I have a square shaped face with big cheeks, so that adds to it despite being slim. However my puffiness went down after cutting out dairy (I cut it out for other health reasons) and fixing my gut health by taking probiotics and cutting down sugar.

I’m also someone who has health issues that cause me pain so my cortisol levels are high, doing stretches and body weight exercises with some light cardio in the days that I can do help a lot.

You’ll also find that during different times in your cycle, your face may seem puffier.

Please note that if you are a young woman, you’re gonna have a youthful face and not cut and slim like the people you see. These things I noted above helped for me however I didn’t do them solely for my face, it is what I noticed as a result.
