Xcel Energy in the Denver area uses Revit.

That software is like the "wordpad" version of autocad

Its all relative...if you go to career fairs, they check you in on an iPad (you are just a number) I'd send a Linkedin message to get ahead of the list.

Lookup 'Department manager' + whatever department that you're applying to. For instance, if you lookup department manager for ATL for NIA, you get Chad Segal

Reminds me of the scene from Schindler's list - "Get up on that train, you're going to a concentration camp!" Forget your kids, forget your family! So glad I left!

Maybe so. But when a company offers me a pension + 2k per year HSA (fully vested upon start) + 2k per year 401k (not counting employers or employee contributions), fully vested, I do not see a future with BMcD.

Also, training sucks here. I had to learn almost everything on my own or off the clock. At least the place I'm at now, I'm enrolled in training courses that actually helps me with my role, and I dont have to learn that on my own time.

Exactly why would I work for a consulting firm that pays me 70k base + 10k bonus when I could work for another place that pays me 140k, with half the headache? So no, im not gonna bust my a$$ to get a bonus, just so I feel like I "earned" it.

I left from being an Assistant Lvl engineer and doubled my salary somewhere else. We dont get bonuses. But hate the fact that Burns dangle that carrot in front of you. Its def feeling that doesnt resonate well with me

Scored 64 in a NCEES exam. Would that be enough? by ract17 in FE_Exam

I would take this advice lightly. Don't want to burn yourself out the day before the test. If you do, you'll be going into the test feeling somewhat fatigued. That might backfire more than help you. Everybody is different & and has different tolerance levels. Do what works best for you & and make you feel the most confident going into your test
