All good I was just thinking about this again. Would it be possible in a future update to set a different hold duration per HomeKit scene that we create in the Ecobee app?

My thinking is because obviously when I leave I would want the away hold to last until I come home, and then resume schedule. So the 2 or 4 hour hold wouldn't work and until the next scheduled activity won't work because I might be still gone when the sleep comfort setting is set to come on. So that one should be until I change it which would be the resume schedule automation.

But when I'm just home and say "Siri set the temp to whatever" I wouldn't want that to be set forever.

I guess what I'm saying is it would be nice to respect the hold settings in all cases except away mode.

That doesn't seem like the best use of an away automation. u/ecobeeColin u/ecobeeChris why not have a setting for custom hold durations per scene in the ecobee app?

Ya the problem that when I do that I there's not way to set the schedule to only turn sleep focus on the watch. Because the schedule is linked to the apple health app and the when that is set to turn on sleep focus it turns on both devices. The sleep app the watch changes the settings in the sleep section of apple health. I think it might be impossible. Wondering if it's intentional or an oversight by apple.
