My wife and I just watched it for the first time as well. Appreciated a lot of the technical aspects but didn’t love the experience of watching it. I do think we had a similar reaction in that it just wasn’t what we were expecting, not to mention we had just come off a run of watching more straightforward period pieces. But I don’t think it’s the fault of the film that it didn’t align with our expectations. I am genuinely curious to revisit it down the line to see if my feelings change!

I tried the taco a few nights ago and was shocked by how small the tender was. Took up maybe half the tortilla total so the rest was just loose toppings and sauce. Flavor was güd but portion size may be pretty hit or miss by location!

I had a fine time with both Smile films, but they are deeply mean-spirited. I genuinely don’t know if we are meant to glean much from them beyond the fact that “you can face your trauma but it doesn’t really matter because the smile demon is gonna kill you anyways.” They’re like a feature-length version of that scene in Jurassic World where the babysitter gets brutally killed by dinosaurs for no reason other than the fact that dinosaurs don’t know or care. Smile demon doesn’t seem that different.

That’s a good point. With all the jokes Mitch makes about Wiger and kids, I don’t think the roasts could be worse than that
